This is a bit off topic artistically from the usual discussions, but I would like to point out that ECM has been doing a good job lately of reissuing parts of their catalog under a uniform Old & New Masters format. The ECM label (think European chamber jazz if you want quick short hand for what Manfred Eicher has involved himself with over the last forty+ years) has been gathering up related albums from their catalog (for example..the Charles Lloyd Quartet, Chock Corea & Gary Burton piano / vibes duets, Eberhard Weber's Colours group), packaging them in uniform white boxes / CD sleeves, dropping in a set of well written liner notes and putting them out at quite affordable prices. For example, a six CD set f Paul Motian's works was only $45 on Amazon.com. Bonus tracks may vary by release, but normally there is little beyond what was initially released. As for whether there has been remastering, I can't say, but to these ears the work done on the original ECM releases is of such a high quality that it doesn't matter. Hopefully ECM will be able to keep this up as I can use a set of Terje Rypdal's early albums. It's not Immersion Edition by any means, but it is a good way of keeping this material accessible in a physical format.

There's still a few Ralph Towner's I need on cd for one. I agree, especially in the 70's ECM was/is an awesome label.

The Lloyd box set is a particularly nice collection of albums for the price.
