Many years ago a local news station where I lived at the time had a consumer affairs reporter who did this schtick each episode about getting outraged over shabby behavior by some area business. He was so loud and annoying that it made me wonder whether he had seen a comedian do a parody of such a character, completely missed the fact that it was supposed to be a joke, and modeled himself on that.

In NY we had a reporter, Arnold Diaz, who did that same schtick. It was called "
Shame On You!". The song was screamed at us and then Diaz yelled. He took this from station to station.

Why I lost interest in the show after they switched to a live audience.

That, and the cast shouting the lines to be heard over the audience.

Pre-leather-jacket Fonz is my Fonz.

Any show on any 24-hour cable news channel. News is no longer broadcast--it's exclaimed: "Breaking!" "Exclusive!" "Amazing!" "Shocking!"
