Product Description
In 1975 and 1976 Paul McCartney and Wings undertook the epic Wings over the World tour, the largest scale tour they would ever undertake as a band. From this tour came both the legendary Wings over America triple live album and the concert film Rockshow. Although filmed on this tour at the enormous Kingdome in Seattle, Rockshow, originally a cut down version of the concert, was not premiered until November 1980 in New York and April 1981 in London. It was released on Betamax and later on laserdisc. Now for the first time the complete full length concert is being made available fully restored from the original 35mm film and with restored & remastered sound, including a 5.1 mix for the first time. This is Paul McCartney and Wings live on stage in a concert that is destined to live forever!

Bonus Features:
A Very Lovely Party on tour with Paul McCartney & Wings.

Obviously I'm missing Macca in Brooklyn this June but now I will be able to throw on this DVD when I need a fix of Macca. :)

Good thing that they didn't put this into the very expensive book-box. That would have made too much sense.

I can't believe it's only these two configurations without some kind of an expensive upgrade including a guitar pick, scarf, obelisk or marble.

Agreed. My only hesitation at this point will be to see if anything gets bundled with it or if anyone has any bonus exclusives. This is why I rarely pre-order anymore...I get burned too often with retail bonuses if I pre-order.

Be patient and give Target time. There's a shortage of marbles right now.

I wouldn't mind an official Macca guitar pick. :)

Too bad this didn't come out yesterday with the release of the WOA CD.

Hey Jimbo, do you think I should re-buy Wings Over America by any chance?

:D

Heard the opening of WOA on a NY rock station yesterday (Venus And Mars/ Rockshow/ Jet). And it sounded great, not sure if they used the new remaster.

That should be in regular rotation.

Just got mine. Is it me or is the packaging of the CD's pretty sloppy? I don't like the insert to be in with one of the CD's, that could scratch it. The dedication to Linda and Jimmy was a very nice touch.

Just noticed the bonus feature on the DVD. I hope it's a good one.

Got my hands on a copy of this on DVD today. This is...how best to put it...

Dynamite.

Very clearly shot on film, not video - it has a definite warmth to it (some might call it softness). The editing is so cool - they even reference it in the liner notes, that it's not the hyperactive, cut-on-every-syllable garbage that we're used to now. There's a panning shot, I think in "Let Me Roll It" (I'm only up to "Richard Cory" at this point), that lasts about 40-45 seconds, a good 10 of which shows nobody. But it works. There's a shot in "Venus And Mars/Rock Show/Jet" where they just focus on the drummer for about 20 seconds.

Such a different feel for a show as well - at this point, everyone in the band except Joe English has introduced a song.

This couldn't have been much better. This is a great example of how to do it right. It's possibly the best video release of the year, in my mind.

If you're on the fence, you can get off. It's excellent.

My copy is on the way. Can't wait!
