There is a new edition of Blue out. It apparantly was released Tuesday 3/6. It appears to be a standard US Rhino release. It's here on Amazon:

Does anyone know ANYTHING about this?

Joni's website only states it's a remaster with no bonus tracks.
Amazon, CD Universe, Amazon UK & Barnes & Noble give even less info.
Rhino's site doesn't even acknowledge it.

I'm wondering if it's the Starbucks repackage of a few months ago? How can it be "Deluxe" with no bonus tracks?

All mention of the 2 cd versions of Court, Hejira & Hissing seem to have disapeared from the net.

The reissue of Blue is a straight reissue of the remaster already available but it comes in a cardboard gatefold case (about 1/2 bigger than a standard jewel case). Lyrics are printed on the inside and the disc is housed in a plain blue sleeve. So, basically it's packaging. It seems Rhino has released a few of these this week (Paul Simon's Graceland, etc.).

No idea if the Starbucks version is the same as I was unaware of the existence of a Starbucks version.

Disappointed it isn't anything more than packaging. And I still miss not getting ICE but this board is fantastic -- hope this helped.

As I've mentioned before, I found the HDCD Blue to be inferior to the non HDCD remaster (the only one of the Joni's I feel that way about), so it sounds like a 100% waste of money.

Anytime -- only thing I don't know is if it is the HDCD or non-HDCD remaster. There was no HDCD sticker on it nor is it on the CD itself.

Also, the reissue series is called "Rhino replicas".

I agree with you -- a complete waste of money.

This one is larger than the Starbucks one, I think.
