No details yet, but Bill Levenson (co-producer of Duane Allman's Skydog box set, among others) posted a quick blurb on Facebook about being at Sterling Sound for a mastering session for Brothers And Sisters and Live At Winterland.

Hopefully some news about this will come out soon.

I've got to believe this is a "Deluxe Edition" for the 30th anniversary of "Brothers & Sisters". Disc 1 would be the original album remasterd; disc 2 would be the "Winterland" concert from '73. I think that one's been widely distributed as a bootleg, but I don't have it. I'm probably in for this one.

I do think the deluxe edition of "Peach" sounds pretty good. And I assume this deluxe of B&S will sound as good. But with the SACD coming out too, this will be a conundrum. Oh well I suppose one cannot have too many copies.

It does sound like it will be special. Apparently what could go wrong went wrong that evening pro audio wise but a yeoman's job is being done resurrecting the tape.

I forgot this was the 40th anniversary of Brothers And Sisters. The last great album of the classic era for me.

Oops. It IS the 40th anniversary, not the 30th as I stated in my previous post. Time flies.

We got a little sneak preview yesterday. Expect a 4-CD set. The Winterland recordings sound great.

You and John are so lucky to have Bill as a friend. :tiphat: I'm jealous.

As for the set, I'm in. As soon as Linda sees a pre-order I'll get it.

The snippets I heard did sound wonderful. What an album and achievement. That music is timeless. Should be a fun set.

I'd like to meet Bill. He seems like a pretty cool guy.

I'd love to pick his brain for anecdotes!

Cool, Brothers And Sisters has my all time favorite Allman Bros song Jessica.

My original post ended with...Bill Levenson. But I thought I'd be nice.

Never again.

According to Hittin' The Web, the official site for The Allman Brothers Band (forum) there will be a pre-sale offer available for forum members.

Also some bad news is that Dicky Betts is apparently quite ill and had to cancel some shows recently due to an unspecified illness. Hope he gets better soon.
