https://soundcloud.com/biz-3-publicity/ ... es/s-LNJFS In August of 1980, Grant Hart, Bob Mould, and Greg Norton booked time at Minneapolis' Blackberry Way Studio to record what would become their debut 7". A deal with Twin/Tone was thought to be in the bag but was derailed by the fall 1980 signing of the Replacements—Hüsker Dü's then-chief rival. With a Twin/Tone rejection letter in their pocket, a scathing version of "Amusement" was thrashed out live at Duffy's, and plans were made for a self-released four song 10", with Blackberry Way cuts "Statues," "Writer's Cramp," and "Let's Go Die" making up the balance. The enormous start up cost for a debut release forced a format change, and in January of 1981 Reflex Records #A, "Amusement" b/w "Statues," found its way to market. The single would find two pressings over the next few years, but fall out of print as the band's style changed from Metal Box-esque post-punk to Los Angeles-inspired hardcore. Hüsker Dü would, of course, build from this auspicious DIY effort to record classic albums for SST and Warner Brothers throughout the 1980s, before imploding prior to the decade's close. These early moments of brilliant naiveté have remained unknown to the band's ever-expanding fan base, primarily discovered on out of reach walls at used record stores the world over. Until now. For Record Store Day 2013, Numero will issue "Amusement" b/w "Statues" and the studio alternates "Writer's Cramp" and "Let's Go Die" as a 2x7". The Blackberry Way cuts have been remastered from a first generation sub-master (the originals have long been lost), while "Amusement" was cut from the original live board tape. The original artwork has been polished and beefed up with a 28pt board gatefold jacket. Pressed in an edition of 4000, this deluxe reissue should satiate a new generation of Hüsker lovers. For at least another 33 years, anyhow.

http://www.yeproc.com/yep-roc-records-a ... 3-releasesQuote: Yep Roc Records is pleased to announce its Record Store Day 2013 releases. We will offer limited-edition vinyl for Paul Weller, Robyn Hitchcock, Josh Rouse and Tift Merritt. In addition, it will release a 12” single and DVD of the historic Yep Roc 15 Artist Recording session featuring nearly every act on the label from its 15-year anniversary music festival. All of Yep Roc’s Record Store Day releases will be available on April 20, 2013 at a record store near you.
At the YR15 festival in October 2012, veteran musicians and producers Chris Stamey and Scott McCaughey recorded 20+ acts in between sound checks, in hallways and in “pop up” recording studios during the four-night festival. Their efforts ultimately wrangled two songs — a cover of Rockpile’s “They Call It Roc” and a cover of Slim Gaillard’s “Yep Roc Heresy,” which served as inspiration for the label’s name. The DVD documents the full recording session and features performances by John Wesley Harding, Scott McCaughey, Josh Rouse, Mark Simonsen from The Old Ceremony, and Adam Schlesinger and Chris Collingwood from Fountains of Wayne. Watch an insider glimpse of the recording in the players below.
Below is a list of other available releases from Yep Roc artists for Record Store Day 2013:
Paul Weller Sonik Kicks Single Box Set 5 singles on colored vinyl Autographed Sonik Kicks Poster 2 unreleased songs
YR15 Yep Roc Heresy/They Call It Rock 12” and DVD First 300 include screen printed cover All hand-numbered DVD documentary of Yep Roc 15 artist recording session Digital download of two additional bonus remixes

Josh Rouse Julie (Come Out of the Rain) 7” First 7” of career B-side is new unreleased song RSD in-store at Grimey’s in Nashville, TN
Tift Merritt 12” Acoustic version of title track from new album Traveling Alone, along with three unreleased songs Handmade and numbered covers

Dang, I'd like to get my hands on a digital version of the Tift Merritt release...
I've seen the teaser video for the Yep Roc 15 set and IMO it's more interesting conceptually than as a finished product.

Hope there'll be more stuff added, especially CDs, but there are a few things of interest — Garbage, Tift Merritt and Marshall Crenshaw — that I'll likely spring for. Thx for posting, Charles.

Last year it was almost all vinyl. While I recognize vinyl's superiority over cd IF DONE PERFECT, I have almost no interest in vinyl at this time. Hopefully more digital this year. The Dead sounds interesting if reasonably priced.

The DiFranco is my #1 interest, though the lack of a price is scary. On the Crimson, does anyone know if it's previously released material? I have 1 indie who will pre order stuff for me, though they never knoww if they're going to get the RDS stuff due to limited quantities.

I see they're redoing PIL's debut single with the original newspaper sleeve.

This list is just way too vinyl-centric for me. I wish there was more CD content.

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/aerosmit ... xclusives/Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix Announce Record Store Day Exclusives by Sterling Whitaker March 22, 2013
Record Store Day is coming up fast, and two of classic rock’s finest have been added to the list of artists who will have exclusives available for the annual event. Legacy Recordings will be offering up vinyl exclusives on Aerosmith and Jimi Hendrix for this year’s celebration of independent record stores.
Aerosmith’s first three albums will be available in exclusive vinyl editions. ‘Aerosmith,’ ‘Get Your Wings’ and ‘Toys in the Attic’ will be packaged as 12″ 180-gram audiophile vinyl LPs, each in an individually numbered jacket. These are RSD editions newly re-mastered from the original source tapes.
Legacy is also offering Jimi Hendrix’ ‘Hey Joe’ with the B-side ‘Stone Free’ as a 7″ 45 RPM vinyl single. These are the original mono mixes created in 1966 for the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s first U.K. single. They have not been commercially available since.
This year’s Record Store Day takes place on April 20. Other classic rockers releasing exclusives include Paul McCartney, Cream, David Bowie and Bob Dylan.

Apparently my friend at the local store is only working part time. Since he''s the owner, & I don't think he's gotten rich, I assume he's taken another job. The girl who answered the phone didn't want to give much info. I hope this DiFranco isn't a pain to get. He's SUPPOSED to call me.........

Interesting. Vintage Vinyl shows the DiFranco as a 2 cd set, while the official list shows it as a 3 song 12" single!

I'll wait for the tracks to appear on CD, but God, this is gorgeous. Record Store Day UK only, two new Paul Weller recordings with a vintage Virgin label:
