Is there an official IMWAN thread about the upcoming season yet?

If not, here we go...oh baby, I'm getting pumped up over here as a Peyton Manning fan!

"The Denver Broncos just secured star New England slot receiver Wes Welker with a two-year deal.

This is clearly a big deal for the Broncos, who now have one of the best receiving groups in the NFL with Welker, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker. What toys Peyton Manning now has."

http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/ ... s-a-bronco

"In a cherry to top a massive day, the Broncos inked Eagles cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to a $5 million, one-year deal. Many league observers thought Rodgers-Cromartie was the best cornerback available in a strong class."

http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/ ... for-denver

Now all they need to do is sign Freeney and I'll be happy as a pig in shit... :D

The way things are going for the Jets, I may need to be a Bronco fan for the near future. Unless we get Johnny Football in a year. :D

As much as Johnny Football is enjoying life, he really could be your next Joe Namath (in more ways than just football). He's the Spuds McKenzie of college QB's.

Yeah, someone's going to have to tell that kid to settle down and concentrate on football and school. He is a sick talent for a freshman, though. I doubt he'd go out for the draft after just two years of college.

Okay, Dumervil's on the Ravens... not the best, but at least it opens up Denver for Freeney, who they're saying is the Broncos' top choice.

Fingers crossed!

Tony Romo is re-upped to the Cowboys.

I was looking at QBs by all-time QB rating and Romo is in the top five (!). Would you say that the team around him has failed more than he has?

    1. Aaron Rodgers 104.9
    2. Steve Young 96.8
    3. Tom Brady 96.6
    4. Peyton Manning 95.7
    5. Tony Romo 95.6
    6. Philip Rivers 94.5
    7. Drew Brees 94.3
    8. Kurt Warner 93.7
    9. Ben Roethlisberger 92.7
    10. Joe Montana 92.3

I would say that about Brees. They had that one shining moment in 09, but that was four seasons ago now.

The Saints have been in the playoffs every year since their SB win except for the year that they had their coaches taken away from them. The Cowboys haven't sniffed the playoffs since the Saints SB year.

A lot of it is Romo, I think. We're going to see a lot of "overpaid" remarks this coming season if the team doesn't perform as expected.

Mostly, Romo commits his mistakes at the worst time and isn't really good under pressure. That said, the Cowboys do have to improve the team around him.

Romo is a guy who gives you good stats...until it matters. Then he folds like a wet paper bag.

How much of this is "Romo is awesome" and how much of this is "We're the Cowboys, look how much we paid our quarterback".

Pat Summerall just died. Him and Madden were unbeatable as a broadcast team.

Peyton Manning Wants Faster Offense

The Denver Broncos finished tied for the fourth-most offensive plays last season, but Peyton Manning wants his team to play even faster in 2013.

Denver ran 1,090 offensive plays during the regular season, an average of 68.13 per game, but Manning wants the Broncos to get closer to the league-leading New England Patriots, who ran 1,191 plays (74.44 per game). The Broncos also finished second in scoring offense to the Patriots last season, with 481 points compared to the Patriots' 557.

The 37-year-old quarterback told The Denver Post on Tuesday that the Broncos "can play faster."

"For whatever reason, our offense plays better the faster we go. I think that was clear cut last season. The receivers liked it; they got into a rhythm," Manning told the newspaper. "Anything we can do as an offense to build off that, anything we can do to make us more efficient as an offense, that's what we're looking to do."

Manning threw for 4,659 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2012, both the second-best totals in his career.

Manning's receiving corps figures to be one of the most dangerous in the league as former Patriots receiver Wes Welker joins Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, who each had breakout years last season, Thomas with 1,434 yards and Decker with 1,064.

Thomas said Tuesday he doesn't think his production will diminish with the arrival of Welker, who has 672 catches in the past six seasons.

"I knew when he was coming in that I would probably get more one-on-one coverage, so I was kind of excited, actually," said Thomas, who caught 94 passes last season.

The gist if that article is if Tebow goes to Jacksonvillle, they suddenly win games. Ok.
