It appears to be 2 bonus tracks (why "Hide In The Rainbow" is here again I don't know unless it's a different version and probably the single edit of "I Could've Been A Dreamer") and the same live CD from Donnington 1987 which is what I was told they'd be doing-there just wasn't anything in the vaults.

Still, to get the album remastered finally and with all the photos and liner notes I shall purchase but not until the price goes down. I believe this will be all for the Dio catalogue although they do have the rights to Lock Up The Wolves and Strange Highways.

This was the first Dio album I bought as a new release CD. I'm going to presume that the disc two is live. I have the Donington 1987 show on CD, so this may not be a "must buy" for me.

Five of the nine songs from the Dream Evil album appeared on the Dio Singles Collection box set that was remastered by Andy Pearce. They are slightly louder and IMO are slightly better than the original mastering. Have a little more punch without being over-bearing. My gut feeling is that most people won't hear a big enough difference between the old and new masterings to make it worth purchasing an import. However, as a big Dio fan and a big fan of this album, I will definitely be purchasing this one.

I don't understand the inclusion of Hide in the Rainbow either. If anything, they should have included Time To Burn instead.

Those were included on the Sacred Heart deluxe, I believe.

Hide in the Rainbow and Time to Burn were included on the Sacred Heart deluxe. I just think it's strange that Hide in the Rainbow was included on this since Campbell played guitar on it. Meanwhile, Time to Burn is omitted when Craig Goldie played guitar on that and the Dream Evil album.

As IP implied, maybe it is a different version of Hide in the Rainbow? It would be cool if the band tried to resurrect it for the Dream Evil album and that is the version included here. It would be really great to have at least one track on this that hasn't been heard before.

I was told there just wasn't anything in the vaults and they debated doing a Deluxe for this one. Had we not had the Donnington '87 already than this would be a no-brainer.

I'll get it as I dismissed this one in high school (still have the cassette somewhere) and haven't heard it since. I saw the tour and it was very cool (love Craig Goldie shooting the giant spider with a laser from his gtr) but the attendance was awful.

So, as I've never owned it on CD it makes sense for me. But I don't get including "Hide In The Rainbow" again-makes no sense. I will get this but I'll have to wait several months to see if I can find it at a better price. I'm in no hurry for this.

For me, this was the last Dio album that I really liked. The end of the classic era for me.

Although I liked Vivian Cambpell better as a guitarist for Dio, this album was an improvement over Sacred Heart, which had a few good songs, but it seemed like a step back and a rehash of stuff from the first two albums. Maybe it was the grind of putting out an album every year between tours, maybe the chemistry between Dio and Campbell had soured or perhaps it was a combination of both.

I think I'll like Dream Evil more now, but like most people back then I was disappointed with Sacred Heart and Dream Evil continued the downward slide into poor sales.

I do remember really liking Side One but feeling Side Two was weak. I look forward to revisiting albums like this after so long.

Well, I got this a while back at $14.99 and it was well worth it at that price from a great seller on Amazon. The sound is so nice-the bass is more prominent, the guitars have even more crunch and the keyboards and drums sound fuller.Oh yeah-and I have to turn it up-no clipping, no distortion no ear bleeding.

The bonus disc I already had from the Donnington release but to have the packaging, liner notes and sonic upgrade was well worth it. Plus, I realized how damn good this album was and how I had unfairly dismissed to some degree!

If the bonus disc was different, I might have considered getting this, but I'm glad you got it so cheap and the sound quality is good.

Still haven't gotten the Sacred Heart DE yet, but I will at some point.
