I would say that it's over if his "fans" didn't come out and support one of his patented shoot em ups.
I'll catch it on Blu though. :)

Ditto - ill definitely watch it on DVD but the eagerness to rush and see his flics is gone..and I was a lifelong fan..!

saw PARKER...entertaining but nothing special..a cool run of the mill heist/revenge flic that is elevated by charismatic and cool performance by Statham, Chiklis, Jennifer Lopez and the dude from the Wire..worth checking out on a lazy sunday or a good rental down the line.

I know. I really wanted to see it. I would've preferred it over many movies, but not Lincoln so I saw that one instead thinking it would last. It didn't. Not even a week.

And Arnold movies usually did well internationally. Now not even that.

My girls wanted to see Warm Bodies so we went on Friday. Cute movie....good, but all it needed was another draft, and it could have been great. Tighten up the logic on how the zombies "work" in that world, I guess. But still, worth adding to your Netflix queue when it gets there.

yep it does seem to appeal to teen girls as it is a love story but I will rent it when it comes to Netflix.....for the zombies! :p

Well I saw my first theatre movie last night
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
I think everyone else had a great time expecting it to be stupid fun. I didn't have as much fun as I did in many other stupid fun movies and as a first movie of the year for me it was disappointing, especially since I left last year with Django. I thought the dialogue was kind of dumb and I've seen better fairy tale interpretations in other places. It just seemed uninspired to me. It could have just been that I was very tired having worked a day of overtime after an evening of regular work though.

I thought since it was so close to the beginning of the year I would try to document movies seen outside of the theatre, though I'd only list ones I saw for the first time, cause it would get long if I just listed everything I watched.
So I'm pretty sure I saw at least one cheesy old sci fi movie at our friend Sean's place a few weekends ago. I know I slept through Green Lantern though.
The Spirit -We figured it would be bad, but thought it would be fun to see just how bad....it was....really bad...

I watched Breakfast on Pluto again last night. Some great acting in that movie by Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson.

I forgot that Neeson was even in that. At the time I thought it was a fun enough movie, but it felt like it was missing something in the story. I wasn't at all surprised to find out that it was an adaptation of a book as it seemed to have that quality of a clip show to it. I think I remember them not really explaining well enough why he should be so ashamed of being in a stage show or something, though it's been a few years so I'm not sure that there's a point in trying to explain my hazy memories. :)

And I forgot to add FRANKENWEENIE (saw it at the discount cinema last week) **1/2

It's definitely worth watching 1 time just for the artistic value, but otherwise pretty dismal feature. Love the original 30-minute live-action version though. Absolutely everything Tim Burton added to it to stretch it out to 90 minutes detracted from the simple charm and cleverness of the original.

That was what I thought it would be like, without having seen it. It seems like a concept that works very well as a short, but wouldn't have the mileage for a full length. Though maybe if it hadn't been a short before I might feel differently.

More Vincent Price:
The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971).

Going to watch the sequel starting right about… now.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Warm Bodies," a romantic comedy featuring a warm-hearted zombie, lured teenage girls to the theater, collecting $20 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada to take the box office title on a weekend dominated by Super Bowl parties and football watching.

Playing in more than 3,000 theaters, the odd-pairing of a pale-faced zombie with his breathing girlfriend faced little competition among new films and easily mauled last weekend's winner "Hansel and Gretel," an updated version of the classic fairy tale with witch-hunting siblings. The film collected $9.2 million this weekend, according to studio estimates.

Turns out teens did like it. :ohyes:

Dr. Phibes Rises Again was okay, but I can see why they didn't make the next couple
of planned "Phibes" movies. Still, someone might do okay with a modern remake today.

I watched Kevin James' "Here Comes the Boom" with the family.

Harmless stuff. Occasionally funny, but nothing to really recommend. I imagine UFC fans would absolutely hate it.

I loved it, actually. All the combat stuff they talked about in training was legit and there were so many fighters in cameo spots that it was great. Both Kevin James' coach and striking trainer were real UFC guys.

Helps that James is a UFC fan, I guess. I'll probably get it on home video.
