Unsurprisingly, Django became a favorite. I loved Argo and while at first I got caught in the hype, then I realized Zero Dark Thirty wasn't really that good. Also, I had forgotten The Campaign and Wrath of the Titans. The first one was forgettable and the second one I wanted to forget.

My top 5: EXCELLENT year for genre films!!! (my kind of films!)

My favorites were:

Django Unchained....another classic from Tarantino. The movie loses a bit with that final shoot out but up to that point....5 stars.
Silver Linings Playbook.....this is my wife's favorite film of the year and I agree...it was fun to see at the movies. Great cast and a compelling story.
Lincoln.....loved the history lesson and Daniel Day Lewis was fantastic. Who knew that Repubicans were once such hereos?
Looper.....a dark film but still I really enjoyed this sci-if tale.
The Hobbit.....I enjoyed the journey once again. Better than I expected.
Skyfall......real good Bond film.
The Impossible.....true story and wow is it compelling.

Worst movie?

Dark Shadows.....it has it all, cast and director but whoa what a disappointment. Shoulda been awesome, turned out a boring turd.
The absolute worst movie though and not unexpected is Pirhana 3DD. Even That's My Boy had a laugh or two.

Hm, since I saw it in January, it didn't click for me that "Django" is actually a 2012 movie.

Hm. Django vs. Avengers. Tough one. I really loved both of them.

Not really any "worst" movies on the list. I enjoyed all of them, but liked some more than others.
