The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees Rush filmed two shows in November for potential release. It’s been speculated that footage shot in Dallas on November 28 will make up the majority of the feature, with scenes in Phoenix on November 25 recorded as backup.
Fan site RushIsABand.com notes: “We hadn’t really expected the release until the fall, so this is welcome news. Although, as is typically the case, delays in the release date are likely – so we may not actually see it until sometime during the summer.”
Meanwhile, Guitar Center have released a brief interview video with Rush, made during their induction into the firm’s Rockwalk in Hollywood. In the clip below, drummer Neil Peart discusses the physical training required to prepare for their Clockwork Angels world tour

If you’re a Rush fan and were all excited about the date I laid out for you for the upcoming Clockwork Angels DVD, then I owe you an apology. It would appear that the DVD (untitled as of this point), is NOT scheduled for May 21.
One of the dangers in running a site like this is a bad date feed. Release dates may find their way into your mailbox, often by trusted resources. Usually you can run with them. For example, the 2112 Deluxe reissue announcement, which proved to be true. I received the info about the DVD from the same source, however, today, from a more trusted source, I was told that the DVD does not have a release date in place. I was told that it would be made available, likely in the Fall of this year, corresponding to a train of logical thought that played out in many Rush forums, rightly so as it turns out.
So, once again, apologies to Rush fans all over who marked their calendars in anticipation of a new concert DVD. I promise to deliver the correct date as SOON as it is made available to me.
Rush Clockwork Angels tour concert film trailer released
Fadoo Productions has released a 2-minute trailer for Rush's upcoming Clockwork Angels concert film which is due out this fall. Rush filmed both the Phoenix and Dallas shows last November for the planned film release. Reports at the time indicated that the Dallas show would be the primary source for the film with the Phoenix footage used mainly as a backup. There has been no official release date given yet, but several rumors indicate that it will be released this fall - likely just in time for the holidays. The trailer can be viewed below or online at this link. Thanks to kjbird and Al-Dreamline for the heads up.

This looks like it will be a great DVD. Are the bonus features for BOTH regular DVD and Blu-ray?
Based on the wording of that article, it appears that the bonus features WILL appear on both formats.
For anyone who has trouble clicking through the link, I've copied & pasted it here:
Rush have finally confirmed the release date of their highly-anticipated Clockwork Angels live DVD – it will appear on November 18.
Rumours had circulated that the set would be released in May after the Canadian prog giants recorded two shows late last year. Industry website MusicTap had reported a launch date had been scheduled for late spring – but it turned out not to be the case. It’s only now that full details have been confirmed.
Clockwork Angels Tour will feature 31 tracks, amounting to over three hours of entertainment during which the band deliver a series of classic tracks from across their career, while also focusing on some of their most recent material.
The tour marked the first time Rush shared the stage with guest musicians as they took an eight-piece string ensemble on the road with them.
The DVD and Blu-ray include a 25-minute documentary plus three comedy shorts used during the shows.
The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees, who also won Album Of The Year with Clockwork Angels at the 2012 Prog Awards, release a remastered version of 2002 album Vapor Trails on September 30. A seven-disc box set, The Studio Albums 1989-2007, will appear on the same day. Clockwork Angels Tour tracklist

Looks like it will be a CD release as well...
AUDIO AND VIDEO RELEASES INCLUDE EPIC VERSIONS OF SONGS RARELY PERFORMED AND NEVER-BEFORE CAPTURED ALONGSIDE NEWLY REWORKED ARRANGEMENTS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE CLOCKWORK ANGELS TOUR; BLURAY/DVD INCLUDES EXCLUSIVE BACKSTAGE TOUR DOCUMENTARY, SOUNDCHECK FOOTAGE, AND TOUR FILM OUTTAKES IN ADDITION TO THE 3 HOUR CONCERT FILM
Rush have unveiled details for their first new recording since being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year. On November 19th, “RUSH: CLOCKWORK ANGELS TOUR” will be released simultaneously via Anthem/Roadrunner Records on CD and the companion BLURAY/DVD on Anthem/Zoe Vision/Rounder.
“RUSH: CLOCKWORK ANGELS TOUR” was filmed and recorded last November at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas, during Rush’s highly successful Clockwork Angels Tour. The eleven month-marathon world tour crossed North America twice and ventured overseas to Europe in support of the band’s acclaimed 2012 studio release “CLOCKWORK ANGELS.”
In capturing the tour’s electrifying three hour set, “RUSH: CLOCKWORK ANGELS TOUR” pairs Rush classics (“Tom Sawyer,” “The Spirit Of Radio,” “2112″), with a nod to the 80′s Rush era (The Analog Kid,” “Territories,” “Subdivisions”) alongside newly reworked arrangements specifically for the tour featuring the Clockwork Angels String Ensemble (“Headlong Flight,” “YYZ,” “Red Sector A”). The string section marks the first time the trio has brought additional musicians on the road with them. To showcase their latest studio release, the epic set list also features nine tracks off “CLOCKWORK ANGELS.” Other highlights include tracks rarely performed and never before recorded live (“The Body Electric,” “Middletown Dreams”), in addition to three separate drum solos by the incomparable Neil Peart.
Beyond the incredible live performances, the DVD includes a 25-minute tour documentary titled “Can’t Stop Thinking Big”, featuring interviews with all 3 members, exclusive and behind the scenes footage, and offers a glimpse into the inner workings of the Rush tour machine and insight into the band members themselves. Other special features on the DVD include the trio of hilarious shorts created specifically for the tour as well as interviews and outtakes captured during their filming. Additional filmed sketches and a rare soundcheck performance of perennial favourite “Limelight” round out the exclusive offerings.
“RUSH: CLOCKWORK ANGELS TOUR” comes on the heels of Anthem/Atlantic’s September 30th release of “VAPOR TRAILS REMIXED,” a newly remixed version of the band’s 2002 album VAPOR TRAILS and 7-disc boxed set “THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1989-2007,” which features every studio album Rush recorded for Atlantic Records.
RUSH: CLOCKWORK ANGELS TOUR Release date: November 19th DVD (Anthem/Zoe Vision/Rounder) CD (Anthem/Roadrunner Records)

I watched the Blu-ray over several nights last week. Having missed the tour it was nice to finally hear what they were up to, especially with the string players. Unsurprisingly, the show was really impressive. Sure, Geddy struggles with some vocal parts but the guy is a dynamo on stage & still a brilliant musician. The editing of the video is a little annoying, rarely sticking with one shot for more than 2 seconds, and alternating between crystal clear footage & what looks like amateur handheld camera footage (I'm guessing that was an effect done by the director and not actual video shot by the audience).
As much as I'd like to have an audio-only version for my collection, that limited edition is beyond my budget at this point. Looks like a nice package, though.
