Three episodes into the first season.

Have absolutely no idea what to make of it, but I'm enjoying it.

I like it a lot.

The second season is the most bizarre mish-mash of stuff I've ever seen. It's even better.

I like it a lot less. Last season had a lot of things going on but at least it moved in the same direction. This one is all over the place.

I marathoned through the first season last month. It's probably the most fucked up show I've ever seen, and one of the most addicting. And despite being all over the place, it all manages to work.

I like the maid (young version).

That is all.

It's the Teletubbies compared to the second one.

I liked them enough to keep watching them. I think I like the second season a bit better, however.

A few more episodes in (just past the Halloween two-parter)... while there's rules here to keep it from being a total free-for-all, there doesn't seem to be any real effort at any sort of coherent narrative. Weird, fucked-up shit happens, and it's fun to watch.

I read the first half dozen reviews at the Onion AV Club and the critic fell into the trap of reviewing it as a normal piece of television for the first few episodes until he just decided to say "fuck it" and let the glorious insanity wash over him.

It's like a one-season Lost, where you don't really put any hope in it all coming together in the end, but with a steady stream of revelations I find myself not worrying about it making sense.

Netflix made this available for streaming literally one week AFTER I finished renting the individual discs at $3 a pop. Grr....

The second season is very bizzare. I can only take one episode at a time. I have it all saved on my DVR.

The best thing about American Horror Story is Evan Peter.

It is lacking a really hot female this season compared to last seasons red headed maid.

They need to give Evan Peter his rubber suit back.

Just started the second season today. Pretty much the same reaction I had to the Season One premiere, which is WTF? Jessica Lange gives a great performance and would have had me coming back for the second part even if I hadn't already bought it all on Amazon.

As for the first season, I rather enjoyed it, even if the final episode suffered with multiple endings and the final couple of endings were kind of silly especially Ghost Christmas. I guess electricity and data plans come with the afterlife.

I think the musical number was the most frightening thing yet.

It's turning into Glee. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

It's amazing how much trashy fun this is. I absolutely love the idea of doing a new story every year with most of the same cast. Gets around the Lost problem of stretching out a mystery for several seasons.

Also weird how thoroughly despicable characters like Lange and Cromwell can often be sympathetic.

I can't believe there are only two more episodes left?! Oh well at least I don't have to worry about a cliff hanger ending.

Big thumbs up to the second season finale. The final two episodes are essentially a long epilogue as we see what happens to all the surviving characters after their time in the asylum was up: the first dealing with the character's struggle with getting their life back on track, while the final episode centers on them finding their way. Apart from a bit of Bloody Face action, it's just a quiet poignant hour centered around Lana talking to a reporter about her life, and by extension, Kit's.

The only problem, it totally buggers up my mood for Justified, which I had planned to watch immediately afterwards, as I need to let the episode settle a bit before I wash it away with something else.

I feel this was the problem for this season. I mean it crammed in alien abduction, possesions, and multiple serial killers. I didn't see the point in including all those subplots. I thought the show was going somewhere with all of it but they never materalized.

For most of the show's run I thought the second season was superiour to the first but the finale was so weak I have to go with the first season as the better of the two.

I liked the second season, but I think that it could have done without the alien stuff.

Damn, that Jessica Lange is a good actress. Flawless.

I thought this season was really terrible. They failed at tying any of these rambling plots together into one cohesive story. And the ending was boring and almost amateurish in its "let's tell everybody's story all the way to death" wrap-up. I've read a lot of crappy student short-stories that end like that.
