Great news indeed. I'm hoping that the bonus material is studio rather than live material, however I'll settle for the latter.

From Musictap.com

TAPSheet: Eric Clapton’s Slowhand To Get A 35th Anniversary Edition Release:

Unfortunately, not all of our wishes get the Anniversary Edition. This is the case with Eric Clapton’s wonderful, No Reason To Cry (released as [no reason to cry]) out in 1976. That album not only generated the hit single, “Hello Old Friend”, it was also a party at The Band’s legendary Shangri-La Studios attended by Ron Wood, Bob Dylan (who contributed an unreleased Dylan track, “Sign Language”), Yvonne Elliman, all members of The Band, and others. But 2006 has passed, and 2012 is near end (the album’s 35th Anniversary), and it looks like we will not see such a work in any kind of Anniversary Edition.

BUT…

Eric Clapton’s next album, Slowhand, released in 1977 was quite the powerhouse. It single-handedly delivered three high-charting singles, “Wonderful Tonight”, “Cocaine”, “and Lay Down Sally”. In addition to those drivers, the album was given three-time Platinum status, a remarkable feat by ANY standard.

And so, on November 19, Polydor Records will issue a 35th Anniversary Edition for Slowhand. The 35th Anniversary set will be offered in four versions that include LP, a 2CD Deluxe Edition, a 3CD/DVD/LP Super Deluxe Edition, and a single CD set.

The album will feature remastered tracks. Other details that are expected too be with the set have not been released. I’ll be sure to catch up this article with any fill-in info that is received concerning the 35th Anniversary Edition of Slowhand.

I’m just real sad that No Reason To Cry was ignored.

With apologies to Larry, if the bonus disk is live I'll pick this up.

I have spent the last 10 years trying to get rid of all my vinyl. Unfortunately I had to buy a few recently to get a bonus CD or DVD that I wanted. This (Clapton) is yet another case. Why do they keep doing this ? A CD is a digital format, a LP is a format I consider old technology and a pain in the ass to look after.

From antimusic.com (release date is now Dec. 4 in US):

Eric Clapton will commemorate the 35th anniversary of his classic 1977 album, “Slowhand,” with a multi-format re-release.

“Slowhand” was recorded at Olympic Studios in South West London in May 1977 and was produced by Glyn Johns. Released in November 1977, “Slowhand” was the most successful album of Clapton’s 70s studio recordings, reaching No.2 on the Billboard chart, where it stayed for five weeks before spending a total of seventy-four weeks on the American album chart.

“Slowhand” features "Wonderful Tonight", "Lay Down Sally" and "Cocaine" – songs that are still heard regularly on radio and at Eric Clapton’s live shows.

Both the Super Deluxe Edition and Deluxe Edition feature four “Slowhand” session outtakes (three of them previously unreleased): “Looking At The Rain”, “Alberta”, “Greyhound Bus” and “Stars, Strays And Ashtrays”.

A week before the “Slowhand” sessions commenced, the band performed at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. The Super Deluxe Edition captures the complete 14 track Hammersmith Odeon, April 27, 1977 concert on two CDs, while the Deluxe Edition features 9 tracks from the Hammersmith Odeon concert.

The 35th anniversary editions of “Slowhand” will be released internationally on November 26, and on December 4 in North America.

and this is why i don't feel bad about downloading torrents.
so i cant get the entire concert unless i get the edition with
audio only dvd and lp; neither of which i want or need.
shouldn't be too hard to find in flac.

I'll probably buy the double CD set and look for the missing live tracks online.

I picked up the double cd version last week. I'm really enjoying the show, though I still wish they'd included the entire show. I would gladly have paid for a 3 cd set.

The 3 disc version will be released a year from now, once everyone has bought the two disc version.

Remember how Live At Leeds was originally released only as a single disc expanded remaster...?

Just got the super duper box set today which is in the shape of a vinyl album. Very nice. It's the surround aspects and hi-Rez mix that enticed me but it's also cool to have some new vinyl. :)

The Super Deluxe version including the full live show (but no download of the written materials and liner notes) is available through ITunes for $14.99. Not ideal but a cheap alternative.

Currently $14.19 at Amazon. This is the artwork they're using for the digital version:

Andy, thanks for the tip on the iTunes. I'm just going to buy the tracks that are missing from the 2 disc version and throw the whole thing on my iPod.

Another cheap alternative is to order the Super Deluxe version from amazon's Canadian hub, where I just ordered it for $26.99 Canadian plus s/h. Not sure how long that sale will last...

I downloaded the missing tracks last night. Thanks again for the heads-up. I was really bummed not to have the complete show.

Really enjoying this one (the 2CD version). It makes me glad I have tickets to see him in March, and it makes me want to listen to everything Marcella Detroit has recorded since.
