Product Description
In 1973, the government of France banned the Rolling Stones from entering French territory because of various run-ins with the law—most of them occurring during summer of 1971, while the band members were in the South of France, recording one of their masterpieces, Exile on Main St. This was a blow to the Stones’ hordes of French fans, who would be shut out from experiencing the Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band In The World on their 1973 European Tour in support of the newly released Goats Head Soup. That October, the band organized a concert across the Belgian border in Brussels, and a local radio station chartered a bus to transport French fans to the now-historic gig.

All the sights and sounds from this historic show and tour have now been amassed for the first time in The Brussels Affair, the inaugural release from the Stones Archive. The package features an 180-gram triple-vinyl album and rare photographs from the Brussels show by Claude Gassian, as well a book documenting the entire 1973 European tour, with exclusive photographs from Michael Putland and a newly written text by acclaimed NME scribe Nick Kent.

Contributors: Michael Putland, Nick Kent, Claude Gassian

  • Limited-Edition Book, numbered and hand-signed by Mick Jagger, Michael Putland and Nick Kent.
  • Album: 180-gram Triple-Vinyl Set of the Brussels concert.
  • CD of the release
  • Watch: ’70s-era “Tongue & Lips” Watch—Japan Seiko movement and stainless steel face with brass dial.
  • Tour Lithograph: 1973 tour lithograph.

Great googly moogly!

But I'm going to show this to my wife to justify the Johnny Cash box set...

I too am thinking about the JC set. I do have most of the material on cd's and Bear Family sets and almost all covered on vinyl to boot.

I am tempted to purchase this just to get Everybody Loves A Nut (all tracks covered by Bear family and I do have the vinyl).

I almost picked up the Clapton Wednesday when I picked up 2 copies of Finer Moments - like others here - I wish it was a 3 cd set as I never play vinyl much now-a-days and no interest in the dvd or the printed matter or a huge box that needs a special place to store.

PS - show the wife - for $ 1,000 you can get a copy of Roxy and have the rights to manufacture as many copies as you want (you pay all expenses) -

The Johnny Cash set looks like a steal!

maybe they should borrow a title from FZ and rename this We're Only In It For the Money.

Jimbo - please let us know how it sounds.

Where is the super duper deluxe version with a Rolex and and a $15,000 price tag? This version feels a bit too chintzy for the REAL Rolling Stones fans out there!

For the hardcore Stones collector, you need this just for that fancy watch. :)

Ticketmaster was pushing this, bundled with tickets for the recent NY/NJ concerts. Outrageous price, even for me. Gives me some hope though for an eventual regular CD release.
