All of Bryan Adams albums from 1980's self-titled debut up to 1998's "On A Day Like This" have been reissued and remastered exclusively in Japan with bonus tracks on SHM-CD. Hopefully, they will receive an international release at some point. His catalogue was long overdue for a remastered treatment. I have no idea on how these sound either. Anyone want to comment?

I have Diana on a "cd3" (anyone remember those??!), but this almost worth grabbing for that if the mastering is quality. oops, I wrote that before seeing the price.......

I will say in my experience the Universal brand SHM's have been almost all superb sound wise.

Thanks for pointing this out! I focused on "Reckless" because of the relative rarity and desirability of "Diana" and "Reggae Christmas", but the whole series is certainly worthy of mention.

I got Reckless and Into The Fire a couple of months ago. They sound great!

I love Into The Fire (I haven't heard the remaster). What an under rated album.

"Victim Of Love" is probably my favorite Bryan Adams song.

Time they came out outside Japan me thinks.
I have the AF of Cuts Like a Knife and the Mobile Fidelity of Reckless on cd.

I ordered "Reckless" and "Into The Fire" and "Reckless" sounds awful, very low in volume and lacking any kind of oomph. I kept it for the mini lp sleeve which is cute, but the sound quality is horrible for a remaster. "Into The Fire" sounds better, but is still disappointing.

Look at the reviews on Amazon.co.jp and you'll see I'm not the only one to be disappointed. Glad I got the gold cd of Cuts Like A Knife last year, otherwise I would have been disappointed in that Japanese release as well.

Whitesoxx, to clarify: Is the volume really too low ( the old ESD Bruce Cockburn cd's had that problem also); or do you prefer highly compressed discs that sound loud?

I bought the lot last week (I like to check artists off the want list and try to avoid returning to their catalogs multiple times). Universal SHM-CD's have never let me down... until now. Without getting too technical, what you're basically listening to are the original '80/'90s A&M CD's with better packaging (and well-selected bonus tracks). You don't have to A-B these to know that virtually no changes have been made; VERY low in volume and completely lacking of sonic punch. Here's an artist I wouldn't MIND if they brickwalled. This was a mistake - I should have bought them one at a time.
