Geff: It's good at times-some arrangements I don't care for. Same for the filming. If you can get it cheaply it's alright, but it's nothing you can't live without.

Just got around to playing this. I liked it more than I expected too. Though I really miss the late David Bron's vocals.
On the other side of that, while i never saw Heep live, i did see Byron's post Heep band, Rough Diamond live & to be honest at the time I thought they sucked.

Uriah Heep strikes me as being a band that never really made it commercially in the US and yet has a fairly solid following. Would that be a correct assessment?

They were actually pretty popular in the Seattle area in the Byron era. In Particular Easy Living & Stealin got quite a bit of airplay here. They pretty much died commercially here after Sweet Freedom.

The Heep enjoyed a string of 4 gold albums in the US during the early 70s, and were a solid concert draw during the decade. They were big with my high-school posse, especially The Magician's Birthday album. Didn't hurt that Roger Dean did the cover illustration.
The group scored a bit of a comeback in 1982, when "That's the Way That It Is" became an MTV and AOR hit.

I saw Uriah Heep open for BOC right here on LI about 3 years ago. They were damn good, a great bar band with one monster hit. They had more energy than BOC.
