Not much in the way of studio out-takes, the concert from 1983 looks simmilar to the El Macombo show in Torronto, he was on fire on that show.

If I'm not mistaken, the '83 Ripley show was a KBFH broadcast. I'll eventually pick this up, but it looks to be missing several songs from the show including: "Lenny", "Rude Mood", "Tell Me" and "Scuttle Buttin'". Those who want the complete show should seek out the excellent "In Memoriam" boot.

That show is pretty readily available, as I recall. I'm sure they'll work some sonic magic on it, but it's not hard to get hold of.
I'll still probably buy this.

I own that "In Memoriam" Swingin' Pig 3-disc title which consists of Live In Montreal 1984 and Live In Philadelphia 1983 in a nice LP-sized box.

That Ripley '83 show is my favorite live SRV by far, but this version is indeed missing the last four songs, which is too bad-- the complete show is 78 minutes and fits on one cd.

FYI, Analogue Productions is releasing a boxset of all the studio Hybrid Stereo SACD's in the near future.

Got this for $9.99 from Discorama (not sure if any are left) and it is wonderful to listen to after all these years for me. The concert from here in Philly (I have this on cassette somewhere) is not complete for some reason but most of it is here and it's amazing.
Vic Anesini did his usual first-class job with the remastering-it sounded great anyway, but it's very clear and the guitar tones are sweet. For the $9.99 it was well worth it.

I thought they just ported over the previous Anesini master for the album proper. I loved his work on the album remasters. Since I'm not a live music nut, I'll probably just stick with those.

I just finished listening to the new AP SACD's Box of the 6 Studio albums. This is the last word on these. They won't get any better short of 5.1 BD versions. Soul To Soul is the proper master and all the discs have the same bonus tracks as the previous redbook remasters (not the Legacy Editons) except Family Style which never had any and is remastered here for the first time. Killer sound. Unfortunatly, you can only buy them as a Box Set and not individually which makes them very expensive.
