This was a CD I enjoyed back in the late 1980s but I don't think its a masterpiece that deserves such a lavish box set.
There are 100s of other albums that would be better suited.
I will say the price of this is quite reasonable considering what you get compared to other comparisons such as Jethro Tull Thick as a Brick new box that only contains 2 discs.

I'm happy this is considered their masterpiece, as opposed to 'World Machine'. Outside of "Something About You," it was my (very belated) introduction to Level 42, so there's a special fondness attached. I'll bite for the Super Deluxe.

Well, World Machine will always be their seminal album in my book, but as an enormous Level 42 fan, I'll be getting this as well. I always felt Running In The Family was an huge letdown after the fantastic string of albums they had put out before. It's still a bit "pop" for me, but it has some good stuff here and there.
I could do without the 12" mixes and the acoustic "reinterpretations" of the album by Mark King and his tribute band. The DVD has the 1987 Wembley show and the Fait Accompli documentary (both of which I had on VHS and would much rather have a blu-ray of).
Why the heck didn't they put the Wembley show as the bonus CD instead?! UGH.

I was listening to my Running In The Family Platinum Edition CD last night and thinking, wow, this sounds terrific! It doesn't really need to be remastered, which I could say for their previous albums; the original West German-pressed CDs still sound awesome today.
