Is 'reworking' a euphemism for 'rerecording'?

Re-recordings, yes:

Quote:
Music Review: The Fear Record | Fear/ 4/5 Stars / A Record remake

Re-recording landmark albums is a common practice among bands nowadays - recent examples include Styx and Twisted Sister - with decisions being based on both artistic and commercial concerns. Jumping on this bandwagon is seminal US punk-rock pioneer,Fear. Sole founding member Lee Ving has opted to re-do The Record, long regarded as Fear's best album and a classic album of the Los Angeles hardcore punk scene in the 1980s, but this time as The Fear Record. And there seems to be enough justification for its existence. Improved production values and a highly-charged performance from the band tips the balance in its favour, and hopefully, this remake of sorts will make its way to the young fans of pop-punk and hardcore, providing fresh inspiration.

Sacriligeous on every conceivable level. The last classic to roll off the Slash assembly line (before the WEA distribution intrusion). "Reworking" this LP is like f***ing with my emotions.
