Stereophonics debut new song 'Violins and Tambourines' - watch
Stereophonics have unveiled a brand new song, 'Violins and Tambourines'.
The song is taken from their forthcoming eighth album, and is accompanied by a video directed by frontman Kelly Jones.
Click above to watch the video. Of his directorial debut, the frontman of the Welsh rockers says: "I've loved film and music ever since I was a kid. When I first started writing songs I realised they could paint pictures in your mind, which inevitably leads to telling stories. I've always wanted to combine them both."
He added: "Directing for the first time with a fantastic crew and cast was a great experience. Here's an appetiser of film and new music from our 8th album - listen with headphones!"
The band's new album, also called 'Violins and Tambourines', is set for release later this year. It follows their 2009 LP 'Keep Calm and Carry On'.
Stereophonics recently became a four-piece, welcoming drummer Jamie Morrison to the band - replacing Javier Weyler – who joins Jones, Richard Jones on bass and Adam Zindani on guitar.
In July, the band helped to open up the London 2012 Olympic Games at a gig in Hyde Park, alongside Duran Duran, Paolo Nutini and Snow Patrol.

Stereophonics give away new single 'In A Moment' as a free download – listen
Stereophonics are giving away new single 'In A Moment' as a free download – you can listen to the track above.
The track, which can be downloaded from the band's official website www.stereophonics.com, is the second, following last month's 'Violins and Tambourines', to be taken from upcoming album 'Graffiti On The Train', due out in March 2013.
Speaking to NME, front man Kelly Jones said the band were "conscious about starting this record in a different way" as they "wanted to give fans something they can keep rather than having to keep going back to YouTube or whatever".
On what the new song is about, Jones explained: "The song is about finding some hope in life. It's about those moments in life when you feel a bit lost and stuck and you don't know how to get out of it and then there's a glimmer of hope that helps you pull through it. It's quite a spiritual song."
'In A Moment' will also be released as a limited edition 10 inch numbered vinyl on December 10. The track has been released before the band set out on next month's UK mini-tour.
The Welsh rockers will play five dates, kicking off at Newport's Centre on December 15, finishing up at London's Troxy on December 20. They will be supported by former Supergrass man Gaz Coombes.
Stereophonics will play:
Newport Centre (December 15) Manchester Academy (16) Glasgow O2 Academy (17) Birmingham O2 Academy (19) London Troxy (20)

There was no download last month, Joe. "In A Moment" is the first one. The previous track was only released for viewing on YouTube (embedded in the second post of this thread).

Any word on a possible US release for this album? Right now it would cost around $12 for the standard version & $17 for the 2-CD version from Amazon UK. Wondering if the 6 songs on the bonus disc are worth the extra $5, especially since one's an alternate version, one's a remix and three are listed as "Up Close" or "Stripped" versions. Only one exclusive tracks appears on that disc.

Thanks, Linda. Now I have to decide if I want to spend an extra $5 for one exclusive tracks and 5 alternate versions. I think I'll probably go with the standard version, unless someone can tell me the bonus disc is essential.

Thanks Linda. I think you've helped me make up my mind...and save $5. I'll be ordering a few things from Amazon UK in the next couple of days, and will make sure I use the AmazWan link.
