Adele hints she's recording new 'James Bond' theme

Adele has dropped a strong hint that she's recording the theme for the next James Bond film.

According to The Sun, the Tottenham soul singer let the secret slip during an appearance on Jonathan Ross' new chat show, which is due to start tonight (September 3).

After revealing that she is going back into the studio in November, she said:


Ross then hummed the signature Bond theme, to which an apparently embarrassed Adele responded: "It's a concept. One song."

The full chat will air on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV 1 at 9.45pm (GMT) tonight.

The as-yet-untitled new Bond film, the 23rd in the series, is due to hit cinema screens sometime next year, with Daniel Craig returning in the lead role.

Jack White and Alicia Keys provided the main title theme for the last Bond film, 2008's Quantum Of Solace. Their track 'Another Way To Die' reached Number 9 in the official UK charts.

James Bond 'Skyfall' producer denies Adele is recording theme tune

Adele has not been confirmed to sing the theme song for the new James Bond instalment Skyfall, the producers of the film have said.

In September, the Tottenham soul star hinted she was set to record the signature track during an appearance on Jonathan Ross' ITV1 chatshow. She said she was going into the studio to record "a theme", adding: "Wow, that's really giving something away."

However, one of the forthcoming film's producers Barbara Brocolli has denied that anyone is yet in place to record the signature song, reports the Daily Star.

She said:


The newspaper went on to claim that Michael Buble is also in the running to record the song.

Last month, Adele cancelled all her remaining live dates this year in order to have surgery on her vocal cords. Her representatives have strongly denied rumours that the singer has throat cancer.

Noel Gallagher to write new James Bond theme tune?

Noel Gallagher could write and perform the theme tune for the next James Bond film, according to reports.

The Sun claims that the former Oasis chief will hold talks with bosses of the 007 franchise in the next few days, to discuss the possibility of him penning the song for the new Bond instalment Skyfall.

A source, who said that Gallagher would meet film producer Michael G. Wilson in LA for the talks, revealed:


Previously, Noel Gallagher claimed that an unreleased song he’d written called 'Freaky Teeth’ would be perfect for the film series. In 2008, he said of the track: "I listened back to it thinking, 'That’d make a fucking great Bond theme. It’s a bit of a piss-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of Americans."

The last Bond theme – for the 2008 film Quantum Of Solace - was a duet recorded by singer Alicia Keys and The White Stripes' Jack White.

Earlier this month, the producers of Skyfall denied that Adele had been confirmed to sing the theme tune for the film. It was also claimed that Michael Buble was in the running to perform the song.

Noel Gallagher has denied rumours that he is being lined-up to pen the theme song for the new James Bond film.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the High Flying Birds man was in talks to perform the theme for the new 007 flick Skyfall, but the singer has shot down the "bizarre" rumours on his official website Noelgallagher.com.

He wrote: "I don't know where you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by '007 bosses!' A meeting 'will be taking place in the next few days'. With some guy called [film producer] 'Michael G. Wilson' (whoever he is)!"

Gallagher then went on to add:

Queen latest band linked with soundtracking new Bond film 'Skyfall'

Queen are in line to record the theme for the next James Bond film Skyfall after receiving praise from one of the franchise's key contributors.

Composer David Arnold said that he is a "massive" fan of the band and would "love them to do a theme tune".

The 49-year-old, who has penned the score for the past five 007 films, suggested that Brian May and co's involvement in the franchise is long overdue.

He told the Daily Star:


There have been hints that the band could even team-up with Lady Gaga for the soundtrack, given that May has recently paid tribute to the singer, describing her as "very inspiring".

Numerous musicians have been linked with writing the Skyfall soundtrack - reports have suggested Noel Gallagher and Adele could both be in line to write and perform the tune.
