Hopefully Grooves Inc will do these @ $6 too, the last batch really was an upgrade!

Amazing how reasonably priced this set of reissues are too. I don't even mind buying all these albums now 3 times over (not counting the LPs). Under $10 is a great price. Wish all CDs were priced like this.
Btw, there is a possibility they might be using some live photos I took in the early '80s for the JINX release. I don't want to "jinx" anything by saying that but...what the hell. I'd be extremely honored if they used anything.

The next series of Rory Gallagher’s classic studio albums remastered (1975-1982) will be available in the U.K. on Monday, October 1 for a limited period in deluxe digi-packaging. The five remastered Rory Gallagher studio albums include Against the Grain (1975), Calling Card (1976), Photo-Finish (1978), Top Priority (1979) and Jinx (1982). “Continuing on from last year’s 40th anniversary of Rory Gallagher’s solo career, we’re pleased to present his next five solo albums from 1975-1982,” said Daniel Gallagher, Rory’s nephew and producer of the reissues. “We’re going back to the vinyl artwork and original ¼ inch tapes so that they look and sound exactly as Rory intended. It’s also great to see in a digital world that the demand for a physical copy of Rory’s music means we can release these albums on vinyl for the first time in almost 40 years.”

Bump: Added cover art. Oh, how I can't wait to get these and hear the improvements. They look nice and genuine. I didn't even have all of these from the Buddha remasters, so this will be exciting for me and at such a nice price. Did I say how much I miss Rory before?

Sony Legacy Recordings in association with Capo Records, is proud to announce the next series of Rory Gallagher’s classic albums re-mastered. The reissued series of classic albums continues with the following Rory Gallagher albums released in chronological order from 1975 – 1982. Albums include ‘Against The Grain’ (1975), ‘Calling Card’ (1976), ‘Photo-Finish’ (1978), ‘Top Priority’ (1979), and ‘Jinx’ (1982).
Picking up where Rory left off with the phenomenal ‘Irish Tour ‘74’ live album, the release of 1975’s ‘Against The Grain’, found Rory at the top of his game and in sparkling form both in the studio and on stage. The next seven years saw the release of these five outstanding records. Each reissue has been digitally re-mastered to stunning effect from the original ¼ inch tapes and features digitally restored original vinyl release album artwork, new booklet content and bonus tracks. All five albums will be released in the UK on October 1st for a limited period in deluxe digi-packaging. Rory Gallagher was a musician like no other. He was, and still is, one of the world’s greatest guitarists, singers, song writers and live showmen. His music lives on through generations of guitarists including Slash, Joe Bonamassa, Brian May, Johnny Marr and The Edge; and also through his amazing catalogue including some of his finest works included in this collection of releases.
Each of the five studio albums are now re-released in digipack form, with restored artwork based on the original first release cover art. The audio has been re-mastered from the original ¼” inch tapes. Each album includes exclusive sleeve notes, album reviews and rare photographs. "Continuing on from last year’s 40th Anniversary of Rory Gallagher's solo career, we’re pleased to present his next five solo albums from 1975-1982," says Daniel Gallagher, Rory’s Nephew and producer of the reissues. "The interest in Rory's music is still so strong that we can continue to celebrate the man's music by re-issuing more of his studio albums. We’re going back to the vinyl artwork and original 1/4" tapes so that they look and sound exactly as Rory intended. It's also great to see in a digital world that the demand for a physical copy of Rory's music means we can release these albums on vinyl for the first time in almost 40 years." ‘Against The Grain’ was originally released in 1975. This deluxe reissue features original release album reviews written by Cameron Crowe of Rolling Stone.
‘Calling Card’ was originally released in 1976. This deluxe reissue features an interview with ‘Calling Card’ producer and Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover, plus the previously unreleased track ‘Where Was I Going To?’ ‘Photo-Finish' was originally released in 1978. This deluxe reissue features an album review written by David Fricke in Circus magazine in 1980, plus two bonus tracks.
Top Priority was originally released in 1979. This deluxe reissue features a CREEM magazine album review from 1980, plus two bonus tracks ‘Hell Cat’ and ‘The Watcher’. ‘Jinx’ was originally released in 1982. The reissue boasts a review of the album originally published in Melody Maker, plus two bonus tracks ‘Nothin’ But The Devil’ and ‘Lonely Mile’.

I probably already said it, but these 5 albums are my Rory favorites, and marks the transitioning to more rock over blues period of his music that I dig the most.

Sitting in a hotel room after Experience PRS, where I saw Bernie Marsden again. At the clinic I attended, someone asked him if he knew Rory, and he said he was a big Rory Gallagher fan when he was young, and he did everything he could to look like Rory. He said he met Rory after Whitesnake hit, and Rory said, "When I walk down the street, people stop me and say, 'Excuse me, are you Bernie Marsden?'" Bernie said, "I said, 'YES!'"
Will have to check one or two of these out.

Will have to check one or two of these out. For Bernie solo, I highly recommend his first 2 solo albums, And About Time Too, or Look at Me Now. Then of course there are a bunch of albums with early Whitesnake and the spinoff stuff with Mickey Moody as The Snakes (aka Company of Snakes, or M3) or Moody-Marsden Band He's got a ton of stuff out the past couple years that I never got around to picking up since they are a bit pricey being imports, including at least 2 Rory Gallagher cover albums. He's done some Rory tribute tours I think too (I think I have a couple of those shows around here somewheres). I'll have to see what's new by him out there, would like to get some more, although I'd rather get his rockier stuff than straight bluesy stuff.

Can anyone help out here? Now all of a sudden Stage Struck and Defender have been added as coming out Sept. 24. All AmazonUK says is they're on Sony which would make sense-but I can't find out if these are new remasters or not. These do not appear to be rehash of the earlier Buddha remasters but I have been unable to confirm. I want to get the 5 listed, but I'll order these 2 as well if they are also part of this batch. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008KVCT82/?tag=imwan-21http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008KVCT7I/?tag=imwan-21

Those listing pages have gone dead now, but they were basically the same as the 2000 Sony budget reissues of the same two titles.

Is there a code again to use with Grooves Inc? I remember slipkid giving us that last time for the first batch of these and it worked out great!

Invisible Pedestrian wrote: Is there a code again to use with Grooves Inc? I remember slipkid giving us that last time for the first batch of these and it worked out great! I think there are still some ways to get discounts. Not sure how many of these still work or if there are any new ones but.... (1) Go to this link: http://www.grooves-inc.com/gv_faq.phpThis signs you up for emails from Grooves about specials etc, and it generates a "personal coupon code" for you to use immediately with your next order if you want. I can't recall for 100% but I think that I've gotten different amounts off with it. Last time I used it (just now) it gave me this message along with a coupon code though: "Your voucher is valid for a $ 6.58 discount for orders over $ 39.50. This voucher cannot be combined with other vouchers. Only one voucher per customer." So that's about $7 off, but you have to order $40 worth. Sometimes it works better if you use your existing account on grooves. If you already signed up it may not work again though, in which case you can either unsubscribe then try to do it again, or just create a new grooves account by using a different email address then try it. (2) Code "1RETAIL1" gives about $4 off any order. I think that coupon is good through all of 2012 (?). (3) Code "TG8MP" was the old biggie that I told you guys about, it used to give 20% off! I don't think it is valid anymore though (?).
