In 2011, Grammy Award winning guitarist Peter Frampton embarked on a world tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of his multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive!. Many of the concerts were recorded and for this triple CD release Peter Frampton has chosen what he feels are the best performances of each track. The set contains the classic Frampton Comes Alive! album performed in its entirety but also focuses on tracks from Peter Frampton's more recent albums such as Fingerprints, Now and Thank You Mr Churchill along with a nod to his past with the inclusion of the old Humble Pie track I Don't Need No Doctor. Peter Frampton remains one of rock's most iconic guitarists and these live performances catch him at his very best.

Peter Frampton Set to Release New Live DVD, Blu-ray and CD This Fall

Peter Frampton has announced that the new video featuring performances from his recent tour commemorating the 35th anniversary of his classic Frampton Comes Alive! album will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 13.

In a Facebook message, the guitar whiz reports that the discs will include high-definition footage from shows he played in New York City and Milwaukee. Frampton also reveals that the concerts were captured in 5.1 surround sound audio.

In addition, the veteran rocker says a 30-track companion CD — what Frampton refers to as “Best of FCA35″ — will be available on November 13, as well. He explains in the Facebook post, “We multi-track recorded nearly all of the 116 shows that made up the entire [Frampton Comes Alive 35] Tour. From all the shows I have chosen my favorite performances of each song and instrumental.”

He adds that the CD is in “the final ‘tweaking the mixes’ stage and I am editing them all together.” With regard to the quality of the performances, Frampton boasts, “If I played my own trumpet I would have to say that I am very excited at the results. Then again I don’t play trumpet!”

I enjoyed his last DVD in Detroit. I was skeptical about it but then after seeing it, I was sold.
