Weird, but often in a good way.

O,Brother---here,the trademark Coen quirkiness was endearing, not alienating.

I haven't seen too many of these. I loved Raising Arizona, though, and Blood Simple.
I guess that was a long time ago for those movies, though.

It might not be the best, but The Hudsucker Proxy is my favorite.

Not a fan of them, but their remake of "True Grit" mostly captured the spirit of the story.

Haven't seen most of them, but True Grit is the only one I liked enough to buy.

Hard choice between RA and FARGO, but I went with the former.

O Brother is a sentimental favorite so I went with it, but they are all great. I have seen about half their movies and could have voted for any of them.

The ones I've not yet seen:
  • Intolerable Cruelty
  • The Ladykillers (haven't seen the original in its entirety either)
  • A Serious Man

The ones I didn't care for:
  • Blood Simple (nor the Chinese remake GIRL, GUN, NOODLE SHOP)
  • The Man Who Wasn't There

I've seen 8 of the movies listed above. Of those, the only one I didn't like was No Country For Old Men.

I love the Coens--I have every one of their movies on DVD, and I cannot decide which one to vote for.

My best buddy and I watched Blood Simple numerous times in the 80's, and still quote lines from it. I'm not crazy about the DVD, though, which has one of the few Directors Cuts that actually removes a few bits from the original movie.
