I wasn't gonna buy it, but I did today (that always happens to me with Hendrix product). Just finished watching it. In my opinion, it's a must-have for Hendrix completists. The extra footage is well worth having. I think they really put some thought and work into this. It comes across as a much more cohesive documentary than the original. I believe that Experience Hendrix has used every bit of available concert footage to beef this up. "Hear My Train A-Coming" is vastly improved, with much additional footage of Hendrix playing. This alone was worth the price for me. Additional concert footage on "Machine Gun" and "Voodoo Child (Slight Return) as well. Check it out if you're a serious Hendrix fan.

Is there a high res 2.0 audio option? If so, what are the sampling/bit rates?

I have the 2003 release, does the 2012 release have 15 extra minutes of footage? The cd audio versions are exactly the same, are they not?

The 2012 release says it has 5.1 surround sound "as a bonus"--when the original 2003 dvd release has 5.1 surround sound.

In addition to the songs stated above, there is also new rehearsal footage used in the introduction to the film. "Machine Gun" is now used instead of "Straight Ahead." The limo footage with at the front end is also expanded. I came away feeling that I had seen a better film than I had seen before. Hats off to Experience Hendrix for this one.

The "bonus" is referring to 5.1 surround sound mix, audio only, of Berkeley second set. The 2003 edition included this as a bonus as well.

It's not a "bonus" if the 5.1 surround sound was on their very own first release in 2003. The only "bonus" is the 15 minutes of extra footage, which sounds like it's worth it.

And how can you do a music br these days without at MINIMUM offering a 48/24 LPCM audio option? IMO, every concert br should have a 192/24 2.0 option. There's certainly room on the disc for it!
