OK, not only my going to get this for two tracks never released on CD and a remastering but mostly for two of my THE fave albums from this time period. Saw them at Madam's Wong in Santa Monica with a guest appearance by Phil Seymour. I'm became a believer after this forever.

Rick A.
PS I bet Linda right behind me on this reissue.

Steve Allen and Ron Flynt followed the power pop path blazed by fellow Tulsa natives Phil Seymour and Dwight Twilley when they moved in 1977 to Los Angeles, where they formed (with Mike Gallo) what has universally become one of the most highly regarded power pop/new wave outfits of the era, 20/20. How highly regarded? The long out-of-print CD reissue of their two albums (20/20 and Look Out!) on the Portrait label sells for over $50 — and that’s for a used copy. Real Gone Music has gone two better with the addition of a pair of non-LP single sides, “Child’s Play” and “People in Your Life,” which have never been on CD. So in effect, this twofer presents 20/20’s complete Portrait recordings. New liner notes featuring interviews with the band members, photos and a fresh remastering by Maria Triana at Battery Studios add to this collection’s 20/20 “vision.”

Oh, Rick, you betcha! I have the "rare and expensive" (in quotes because now it will be neither) Oglio two-fer, and those two non-album tracks were a glaring omission. This new release will be perfect.

Let me share a little story from the glory days. When Look Out! was first released it came with a postcard to send to Portrait/Epic and get a free 20/20 logo badge in return. I got the album on the day of release. Mailed out the postcard the same day. A couple of weeks later I got a package in the mail that included the badge, the Look Out! press kit, an autographed glossy, and the promo EP from which the two non-album tracks are taken, accompanied by a handwritten note from Ron which read, "Wow, you must have been the first person on Earth to buy the album!"

Maybe I was!

Great story Linda. And a very cool collectable. Very nice of them to provide such cool stuff and the personal note.

I have the Oglio two-fers as well and play quite often. Loved these guys big time (as I know you do as well).

I knew you be extremely delighted about this announcement. And thanks for the link, I am preordering this tonite!

Received my "Clover" reissue and the "20/20" Saturday.

Very happy to report the "20/20" is worth it even if they didn't include the missing tracks that Linda mentioned.

The remastering is fuller than the previous issue which was excellent in my book. This is even better! I am on my second listening this evening. And now including the missing tracks this a must!

This is probably 20/20's only television appearance ever, performing "Cheri" on the Hollywood Heartbeat programme in early 1980:

I was not familiar with this band before this thread, but based on your comments and that video, I have added to my Amazon shopping cart. Thanks, everyone for the introduction.

Wow Linda, I never saw this before. Good ole Tulsa boys rocking it up. Great find to share. Big Thanks!

And David, you will find that this is one killer power pop album(s). Let us know what you think when you give it a spin.

Also did a Google search on this show and surprised to find that Bob Welch was the host. The 1980 Hollywood Heartbeat music TV series concept and format was the precursor of the 24 hour MTV cable network launched on August 1st 1981.
