The new album is titled Valtari, and is scheduled for release on May 29 (May 28 in the UK). "Ekki Múkk" is now streaming at the band's website.

Sigur Ros have announced that they have been busy recording a new album in their native Iceland.

In a posting on the band's website, they wrote that they have been working in their Sundlaugin Studio the past few weeks recording the follow-up to 2008's 'Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust'.

The new album is reportedly near completion, and according to the band, "the recordings have been going very well and that the album is taking form as a slower and more ambient record than 'með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust' and 'takk'."

Drummer Orri Páll DýRason described the music as "melodic but much less noisy and more 'out there' than previous albums".

The band are aiming to release the as-yet-untitled album some time in 2010.

"We haven't got another [Sigur Ros] album ready - It was just a rumour," Birgisson told SpinnerMusic.co.uk. "We started to record something, but then we chucked it all away. So I think we are going to have to start it all again."

When asked if the band are on a break, he confirmed, "Yes we are on a break at the moment. Everybody in the band is having babies."

Shia LaBeouf goes full-frontal in Sigur Rós video

Shia LaBeouf is stripping down in a big way -- all the way -- for the camera in a new video for Icelandic band Sigur Rós' song "Fjögur Píanó."

In the video, the "Transformers" star provocatively sucks on a lollipop, cavorts in bed with actress Denna Thomsen, wears a fetching bathrobe and, of course, appears in the buff.

In some ways it shouldn't be such a shock. LaBeouf has certainly never been shy about sharing his opinion before, memorably bashing "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and dishing on his offscreen hookup with Megan Fox, but it is rare to see an A-lister, even a notoriously forthcoming one, offer such a frank look at his nether regions.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the video's director, Alma Har'el, said that the nude scenes were not planned and acknowledged that the extra exposure might not have been possible on a big studio film.

"That's the difference between working within a corporate system and something that artistically takes you places you wouldn't expect," Har'el said.

She went on to describe the video as an examination of drug and sex addictions' cyclical nature.
