Batman: The Animated Series all the way. One of the best TV themes ever. It ramps me up and gets me excited about the BTAS episode, even if it is a Catwoman.

In theory, yes, but other than Year One, I've never read or seen a Catwoman story that I enjoyed. With very few exceptions, the same is true for Joker in the comics, though he was the best part of BTAS.

Maybe he meant the Catwoman episodes were the weakest.

What about the 1966 Catwoman episodes? I thought you liked Julie Newmar.

I picked Zimmer's. But it's a toss up between that and TAS.

The one from Forever/Robin is poison for me.

I love Julie Newmar/Catwoman (what young boy didn't want to grow up to be Julie Newmar?), but it is the camp of that series that I always liked. The stories always seemed secondary to the flash.

Then all of the Elfman stuff. He was sounding extremely repetitive in the 80's and 90's.

Fixed.

I like that one too... it's one of the only highpoints of those films for me. I like all of the Batman themes.

I put it in because I knew people would want to vote for it, but I'm always mystified by people acting as if BTAS theme is a whole different thing from the 1989 movie one. It seems like a simplified, "made for TV" version of the movie's theme.

Different tunes for different moods.
"Na na na" hits the nostalgia button, but it gets repetitive quickly.
Elfman's theme tops this hit parade.
The BTAS theme is a rework of the Elfman theme.
The Zimmer thing I wouldn't even call a tune--more of a blare.Sounds cool in the context of a movie,though.

Elliot Goldenthal's theme makes me undergo a synaesthetic experience. I hear it and I start seeing the neon colors and I want to puke.

I get what you're saying about TAS. It's true. In fact, it's why I like it.

You left out the themes for The Batman and The Brave&The Bold TV shows.
The B&B one was nice and brassy. The Batman had two themes. The first was dreary, the second sounded like the Hawaii 5-0 theme.

That weird score for the series kept me from watching it, despite some great animation. Absolutely horrible.

Yes, he had lost the freshness and originality that marked his 70s work.

I went for Batman (1989), (which is really Batman: TAS as well.) But Brave and Bold had a great theme too.

+1.

And yet there are some uncultured rubes who say they can't tell it apart from the Elfman theme.
