While it would definitely have to be more or less the GLA: Misassembled lineup I think they should add a few extra obscure Marvel characters. Like perhaps Speedball.

And of course they would have to tactfully work around the fact that most of the characters are mutants, but as none of them have ever actually appeared in an X-Book I doubt the characters themselves would be controlled by Fox even if the concept of mutants are.

Just as Marvel changed its history to make Captain America a founder of the Avengers, they will have to do the same with Squirrel Girl.

I honestly really like having Mr. Immortal found the group because he was a bust as a solo hero. However, giving us more Squirrel Girl would be awesome.

I didn't mean for Squirrel Girl to be the leader of the GLA! I meant that if you told the story of how the group came together, Marvel would retcon the past so that SG was ONE of the founding members, not THE founder.

Oka, that definitely works. Especially for a movie where having the recruiting drive scene from Misassembled would be a waste of screen time.

Speaking as a Milwaukeean, I would kill to see this movie made. As long as it was based on Dan Slott's material more than Byrne's. (Because Byrne kind of sucks, imo. We should have a thread about that.)

I don't think they need to add anyone to the Misassembled lineup, though. EXPLAIN THIS LINE OF THINKING PLEASE, BUBBLES.

Squirrel Girl. I think Chloe Wassernuts from Dark Shadows and Kick Ass should play her.

Big Bertha - skinny girl in a fat suit, fat girl and a CGI skinny person or two actresses?

I'd say skinny lady who is CGI'd into largeness a la the actors who have played Bruce Banner in the Marvel movies.

Mostly just because I think Speedball is cool and unlikely to ever get a solo-feature.

And since him and Squirrel Girl are an item last I checked it would be fitting.

Or a fat suit ala Gwenyth Paltrow in Shallow Hal and Eddie Murphy in like half the movies he has ever done.

Either approach would work.

I figured they got paired up because they're both Ditko creations.

I don't want Speedball on the team. There, I've said it.

I can understand that. The Misassembled team is about perfect.

That was NOT one of the choices.

Don't forget Hugo, "Let Me In," and the upcoming Carrie remake"

I like her as an actress, but am not sure I see her as Squirrel Girl.

Everything she does has sort of a dark edge to it, even Hugo, and Squirrel Girl is a pretty light character. Despite drawing her namesake from nature's deadliest predator.

I don't believe in no-win scenarios.

Part of my thinking ala Speedball was this could be the only chance to showcase some of the misfits of the Marvel Universe. Might as well make the most of it and throw Speedball or Plant Man in there.

It just doesn't feel right to me.

Who would be a good Squirrel Girl actress? How old is she supposed to be?

I always got the impression she was pretty young in her first appearance, but at least a few years older in Misassembled. I would say at least 16 and no older than 25.

That's the kind of mean-spirited thinking that will eventually kill IMWAN. :)

I think the GLA would be perfectly suited for an animated feature. If only Marvel was owned by a company that knew how to make them...

Well, that WOULD solve the Doot problem.
