I want you to think of a reviled movie (preferably one that you don't like) and come up with a handful of non-insulting reasons why a sane, intelligent person would enjoy it.

Batman & Robin.

1) Because it's funny.
2) Because some of the set design is really cool to look at.
3) Because George Clooney is a likeable actor.
4) Because there's nipples on the guy's suits, but not on the girl's
5) Because it's really not as awful as everyone makes it out to be.
6) Because it's still Batman.

The Spirit

1) Great visual design reminiscent of Sin City
2) Sam Jackson
3) A willingness to go waaaaaaaaaay over-the-top
4) Lots of scantily clad hot women

Green Lantern

I've got nothing

1) Ryan Reynolds has charisma
2) The Green Lantern Corp are awesome, especially Sinestro
3) Fidelity to the source
4) It's not nearly as bad as I make it out to be.

Judge Dredd

1) Lots of great bits pulled from 2000AD.
2) They actually did a good job creating Mega City One without CG
3) Stallone can almost always be counting on to deliver the action goods
4) The inclusion of a couple of really mental bad guys, like the one with the anger dial on his forehead

I could look at Alicia Silverstone all day.

And it laid the groundwork for the remake Christopher Nolan is doing with Bane in it.

Yeah, but that is not a valid reason to enjoy the movie even if it is a valid reason to excuse the movie's existence.

Ang Lee's Hulk because it has a really cool teaser trailer.

I liked Ang Lee's Hulk the first time I saw it. I have only seen it once so no idea if it holds up.

I'm having trouble thinking of a movie that is almost universally reviled, that I saw, and that I didn't like a decent amount.

The movies I hate the most tend to be popular. Universally reviled movies I tend not to see.

Ghost Rider

1) A really good visual representation of the character
2) The night ride with the Phantom Rider
3) Eva Mendez
4) Nicholas Cage's hilarious gestures
