...Volume 1.

And if it sells enough copies...maybe there'll be a volume 2...3...and so on.

So spread the word! Makes a great gift for grads and dads!

Here's a link to order it for WAN and all.

I already have the Spider-Man PDF DVD, but I'll be getting this one to have a physical copy of the stories.

(Also gonna sticky this thread.)

I'm going to get this. Is there likely to be an Avengers Visionaries Roger Stern book?

I'd say Mr. Stern's Avengers and Spider-man work is some of the finest out there for both titles.

Unfortunately, he was off both books when I started reading and the back issues were all I had, which was not the whole thing :(

I started regular reading of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN around issue #226, so I caught the majority of this run first time out, and wow, was it some great great stuff. It was this era that made me a fan of Rog and of John Romita Jr. Four of my favorite Spider-Man stories ever came out during this run: The Juggernaut two-parter, immediately followed by the Cobra/Mr. Hyde two-parter, immediately followed by the Tarantula/Brand epic, and then (almost) immediately followed by the introduction of the Hobgoblin.

Good times, good times.

This first volume actually starts before that...with AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #206 and SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN ##43-52 and 54.

Looking forward to it, Roger. I'm embarrassed to admit that, despite being a huige fan of your AMAZING SPIDER-MAN stint, I've never read your SPECTACULAR stories. In my humble opinion, you're one of the best Spider-Man writers of all time. You and J.R., Jr. were a tremendous team.

My pre-order goes in now.

IAWTP. My first issue of ASM was #240. Awesome, awesome stuff.

Ditto the last two posts. I'll be buying this treasure for sure...

The first issue of ASM by Stern and JR Jr I picked up was the second part of the Will O The Wisp / Tarantula storyline (#235). Great stuff. Best post-Stan Lee run. Period.

I haven't read a few of these stories, either. What they ought to do, when they get to the end of your run, is end with the Hobgoblin Lives! miniseries.

It really just doesn't get much better than Mr. Stern's AMAZING or AVENGERS.

Thanks for knocking our socks off, sir...and for being here, so we can talk to you about your work.

That would be awesome. I still boggle at Roger Stern's first full Dr. Strange story. It's ... sexy?

Roger has so many good stories, I'd have to fill a whole shelf just for him.

I plan on buying this!!! I've only heard FANTABULOUS things about Stern's Spider-Man run; and I'm not even a big Spidey fan. What issues does this first volume contain? Does anyone know what issues constitute Stern's full tenure on the book?

Thanks!
Marc

Oh boy. This hits me right in my wheelhouse. After intermittently buying some issues (and getting some hand-me-downs from my older cousin), I started unterrupted runs of ASM with issue 205 and PPSSM with issue 42. Did about 4 years uninterrupted with both. Stopped at about the time of Secret Wars and the new costume. (this time period covers ages 11 through 15 for me)

Any of you cover posters out there want to let 'er rip? I'd love some covers from the Uncle Rog era to get me fire up for this trade!
