I really enjoyed most of these that I have seen (ten out of the thirteen listed), but Catch Me If You Can is a movie I could watch over and over again. Love it.

His best movie isn't really a 'Spielberg' movie: there is a type of movie which comes to mind, I think, when his name is used as a descriptor and of this type I think ET is the best for all sorts of reasons. But the best movie he has directed is undoubtedly Schindler's List.

If I had the choice of watching any of those movies right now, I'd watch Jurassic Park.

But we do watch Jaws an awful lot.

Best: Schindler's List...but I cannot watch it. I saw it once in theaters, and once on home video of some sort a couple of years later; never again. It's just too disturbing, which is a testament to its brilliance as well as the obvious condemnation of the horrors of the holocaust, I suppose.

Best that I can actually watch: Jurassic Park. Much as I love Raiders and E.T., Jurassic is just plain old fun start to finish, and has DINOSAURS. :)

"Empire of the Sun" would certainly be in my top 5 Spielberg films.

Jaws, with Raiders and Close Encounters right behind. Duel is right up there too, although I always thought it should be re-edited without the voiceovers.

I picked Saving Private Ryan, it was robbed at Oscar time and it will stand the test of time as one of the best war movies ever.
Also shocked I'm the only one who picked it.

Like all his movies though (haven't seen Tin Tin).

I went with Raiders, but believe or not it was a close call with Catch Me If You Can. Love that film. I would sooner re-watch it now than any of those other films. Just a perfect, perfect movie.

Raiders, but I really wanted to vote for Duel.

All of you who didn't vote for Schindler's List are Holocaust deniers.

Totally agree. His best by a long way. Spielberg is possibly the most overpraised director of all time.

My only problem with granting A.I. the "best" title is its was initially envisioned by Stanley Kubrick who would have finished it if he had lived. Spielberg does a good job with it but I will always wonder what the full Kubrick experience would have been like.

AI is not the one I voted for (see above) but I do think Spielberg did a nice job capturing Stanley Kurbick's style without totally aping it.

I really love this movie. I would only place Schindler's List ahead of it.

Jaws is Spielberg's best movie and my own personal favorite movie. This was a tough call though because Raiders is so much fun. But, like the Matrix, I think the sequels hurt the luster of the original a bit.

I remember liking E.T. but have never revisited that movie after seeing it at the theater. Catch Me If You Can is great fun and well made, but not revolutionary. I liked most of Saving Private Ryan, but ws left a little cold by the book ends to that movie. Close Encounters was great. Is great. But, it doesn't hold the place in my heart that Jaws and Raiders does.

Who will make the worst Spielberg movie list? Would the movie be Hook, The Terminal. or 1941?

But the Jaws sequels didn't take anything away from Jaws for you? :)

Raiders. As much as I like E.T., Raiders is a fun action film that I could watch every day...
