[2012-05-??] Shuggie Otis "Inspiration Information" deluxe edition w/ unreleased tracks [Legacy]

One of the Record Store Day special releases was a single by Shuggie Otis. "Inspiration Information" single edit b/w an unreleased song called "Magic." I figured this might be a teaser for an upcoming rerelease.

This is what it says on the back cover:

Deluxe expanded remastered edition of the original album Inspiration Information.
Includes previously unreleased tracks.
Coming May 2012.

There is also a picture of the original album cover, but with an additional line under the title that looks like "2CD Expanded Edition."

I was pleasantly surprised to see this on the back of the single, but there's nothing online – even the Facebook page – about it. You'd think there'd be SOMETHING since it's supposed to come out next month!

A buddy of mine picked this up when Luaka Bop re-released it a while back. Until then I had no idea that "Strawberry Letter 23" by The Brothers Johnson was a cover of a song from this album. Good stuff!

It's actually off of "Freedom Flight", some of those tracks were added to the 2001 release of the aforementioned cd.

The upcoming May 23 Shuggie Otis release is a 2-disc release with 2012 remastering and contains bonus cuts from the album "Wings Of Love"--according to cd japan.

Wings Of Love? Is that an unreleased album or something new he's working on? I downloaded 3 or 4 "new" tracks a few years back. Seems like it was an ep called Novemberin'.

looks like Wings Of Love is a NEW double album and the bonus tracks are from it.

Per a source of mine, Inspiration Information is scheduled to be reissued this year via Legacy, but it won't be in May. Date is still TBA.
