Product Description
Very few rock bands in the 80's attempted to think, or indeed play, outside the box. Most kept to well-worn paths, be it heavy metal, glam rock, punk rock or even pop rock but for Phantom, Rocker & Slick the musical trajectory was new and imaginative; an exciting step in a totally unique direction, combining fifties rockabilly with the cut and thrust of 80's hard rock. Featuring former Stray Cats founders Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker, together with universally well respected guitar hero Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon, John Waite), the band were launched in an explosion of excitement, earning instant acclaim for not only their album but also for a series of incredibly energetic live performances.

Recorded in Los Angeles by Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero (Metallica, Tesla, Guns N' Roses) and released in 1985, the album features amongst its eleven self-penned tracks, guest appearances from Rolling Stones keyboard alumni Nicky Hopkins and guitarist Keith Richards. Phantom, Rocker & Slick is released as a Special Limited Deluxe Collector's Edition.

Nice!
One of the many short-lived 80s "supergroups", Phantom, Rocker & Slick (Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker of Stray cats plus ex David Bowie, John Waite, Silver Condor guitarist Earl Slick) were pretty damn good if I remember correctly.
"Men Without Shame" was a fairly big MTV/AOR hit and was a great butt-kickin' guitar driven rocker. The guitar playing on that song was fantastic.
"My Mistake" also got some airplay. I remember liking the album then, but this was 1985 and I haven't heard it since.
Anyone else remember this and considering picking this up?

Couldn't find the video on You Tube (I have it but have no clue how to upload it), but here's "Men Without Shame". Good lord, this still sounds awesome.

I've got a budget CD from EMI called Lost Hits of the 80's that has "Men Without Shame" (as well as a bunch of other HTF tracks). It did get a lot of play on WNEW back then. I've got both LPs by PR&S (the second was titled Cover Girl). Definitely interested in this.

I have a friend who used to refer to them as Phantom, Rocker & Grace Slick."

"Men Without Shame" was a staple on V-66, Boston's music video station. 8-)

I'll be getting this. I have the CD that Jimbo posted earlier and need to pull it out.

You can find V-66 clips on you tube, Mark. God, V-66 -- what a throwback! The low rent version of MTV.

Used to have both of the LPs, being an Earl Slick fan.

Never got around to getting either on CD (or maybe they never came out). Don't remember much of anything about them at a except for the single (Men Without Shame). Neither album did much for me. I'll pick this up if I see it for $10 or less but otherwise will pass.

I'm on the fence with this, as I bought the Rock Candy re-issue of Greg Lake's 'Manoeuvres' and it sounds like crap.

Sorry to hear this, especially being a big Greg Lake fan. I have the title you mentioned on Japanese CD and will stick with this then.

As for Rock Candy though, I have quite afew titles from them and quite pleased. I post my review of "PRS" when I receive it.

Well I gave it a spin this weekend and Rock Candy has reissued another winner. Really enjoyed it, it really rocks. Having only the album issued decades ago this remastered disc provides the sonics that you knew was there but limited to the vinyl of the day. Strongly recommended.

Here's the promo video for "Men Without Shame", Pete. Not a great copy, but watchable:

And here's "My Mistake" for good measure:
