Interestingly, they're taking a slightly different approach with this set... while there are references to "limited edition" and numbering, the Howard Jones website indicates that the set will also be "available on Amazon on April 30th" (at the same £35 price) and even for sale on the U.S. tour which doesn't begin until late June. I'll probably just order through Dtox again, but there may not be the same urgency as with earlier releases.

A little further analysis reveals a few holes in set as well. While there are several mixes making their first appearance on CD here, there are several missing b-sides.

"The Chase" and "Dig This Well Deep" can be found on the 2003 The Very Best Of Howard Jones compilation, albeit minus the newer remastering. "Everlasting Love [The Institute Mix]", "Road To Cairo", and "Other People Are Us" are still only available on their corresponding singles, except for "Road To Cairo" which was also included in the OOP Rubáiyát: Elektra's 40th Anniversary compilation.

As far as I know, this also means "No One Is To Blame [The Long Mix]" remains completely unavailable on CD.

They have finished this off in style. If it's going to be released through Amazon UK it will probably be cheaper (after subtracting VAT). If there is no concern about a limited edition, I guess I'll just wait.

Thanks for the good news, IP.

I know this is a minor quibble, but those "Remastered Edition" stamps on the booklets are irritating. I would think most collectors prefer unadulterated cover art.

(I have a similar complaint about reissues that print the words "this is a facsimilie of the original back cover art" on the back cover art. A recent example is the complete Cheap Trick set from PopMarket, where similar words have been added to the first several mini-LP jackets. What idiot thought that was a good idea?)

WARNING-this is from a post on the New Wave Outpost and apparently this has also happened on a previous set. This issue is discussed on the NWO in the forum on Howard Jones latest remasters.
I don't have any of these, but this is absolute bullshit-especially for those who paid those inflated prices. Anyway...

Real shame that the bonus disc (RISK) from the first 2 albums is botched. The first 3 tracks are fine, but the rest of the tracks has the start of the next track on the end, so that the next track starts somewhere in the first second.

Talking about missed opportunities, this is a real one.
