Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet. This is the song oriented album that a lot of Sonic Youth fans have been waiting for Lee to release, and it's wonderful. It's a grower in that, while Lee and Nels Cline set off guitar firewroks all over the place (it reminds me a bit of Television), the album is still pretty understated. Yes, it will remind you of Sonic Youth in parts (of course) but these are lovely, well thought out songs that are emotional and totally engaging with plenty of forward motion. Side 2 (on lp) seems to be all of a piece, because the songs play off each other wonderfully. And there is an absolutely perfect piece of guitar jangle pop included called "Lost". Love this album.

This came out last week, so there's no longer any way (or where) to preview it. Sorry about that.

Cover and order link added. That's what I meant. Every release thread should have them, hon.

Excellent album, excellent songwriting. Still hoping for Sonic Youth to stay together but regardless, this release is very welcome for all SY fans.
