CD Description
The fans demanded it, and the fans finally got it. After 20 years apart, the long-awaited Triumph reunion (of vocalist/guitarist Rik Emmett, bassist/keyboardist Mike Levine, and vocalist/drummer Gil Moore) took place at Sweden Rock Festival, on June 7, 2008. And now, the band has put the finishing touches on the DVD/CD double pack of that historic performance.

From hennemusic.com:
Triumph: Live At Sweden Rock Festival package due this spring
A new live package from Canadian rockers Triumph is on the way.
After 20 years apart, the long-awaited Triumph reunion (of vocalist/guitarist Rik Emmett, bassist/keyboardist Mike Levine, and vocalist/drummer Gil Moore) took place at Sweden Rock Festival, on June 7, 2008.
Now, the band is putting the finishing touches on the DVD of that historic performance.
The tentatively titled “Live at Sweden Rock Festival” set will consist of a DVD and CD, with a release date targeted for later this spring.
“It’s great to finally be able show the world Triumph’s reunion show at the Sweden Rock Festival,” says Levine. ”It certainly is one of the most memorable performances of our entire career! And they said it would never happen…”
No word on the final track listing, but here’s the band's setlist from the Sweden Rock Festival performance:
01. When The Lights Go Down 02. Lay It On The Line 03. Allied Forces 04. Never Surrender 05. I Live For The Weekend 06. Blinding Light Show 07. Rocky Mountain Way 08. Magic Power 09. Rock And Roll Machine
Encore:
10. Fight the Good Fight

Awesome news. Had no idea this was pro-shot-there's tons of crappy boots on You Tube, so this is good news. They only played one other show besides this one so I'm glad they documented it. Some of the tunes didn't sound quite right with the key changes, but that's to be expected these days. I will most certainly get this. Rik Emmett is a frickin' genius.

Bump: All info now up including track listing, cover art and links. Looks like import only at this point, but maybe Amazon.ca (is that the Canadian one?) will have this at some point-you'd think so! But, no matter-I will get this one.

Nice to have a release date for this. Now it can officially go on my to-buy list. The set list is nicely balanced between Emmett & Moore tunes, even though I wish it was more Emmett-heavy.

Did anyone pick this up? I've heard good things, but that the DVD was only so-so and you could tell it wasn't set up for release. I'd like to know if it's still a good quality visual presentation.

I'd like to know if it's still a good quality visual presentation. I have it. The video is in wide screen and is of decent quality. It's definitely not bootleg quality but it's not 100% stellar. It's very good. Rik's voice is the only disappointment as he can't hit the high notes like he used to. He does good though. The other two are on top of their game. There's a 2nd guitarist throughout the show also. He adds something to it. The CD is the same. All cuts on the vid are on the disc. Get it if you're a fan.

I got this last week and just watched it today. It's worth it. There are some flaws in the video, but nothing I'd consider major. And not to disagree in a major way w/Mark, but Rik doesn't even go for most of the high notes - Gil holds back a bit as well. But given that it was essentially a one-off, not too surprising. Especially since Rik had gotten away from that type of material.

That's funny-we got our "magic" power back and the mail was finally delivered and today this came in! haven't watched/listened yet too much, but the CD is what I went to first. Rik definitely sings lower-many songs are in a different key if not all of them (same for Gil). His playing remains awesome-he's one of the very best alive. I believe Dave Dunlop is from Rik's solo band but someone else would have to confirm that. Anyway, love these guys and looking forward to watching/listening to the thing with my "magic" power staying on!
