Hollies' drummer Bobby Elliott confirmed in a South African radio interview about 10 days ago that he is working on an upcoming Hollies BBC Sessions CD release. Another poster on the Hollies forum guesses they may have recorded 70 songs for the Beeb, interesting...

In for this, of course. :ohyes: Would love to see The Hollies' French and Swedish radio sessions released officially too, with all the Motown and Soul/R&B covers they did.

Agree with you Linda. This is on my list. I love groups from this era paying regard to Motown & Soul/R&B.
The Zombies did the same and really dug it.

:D At l-o-n-g last the Hollies BBC sessions...or some! As others have posted, the Hollies were frequent guests on the BBC and there are already various bootlegs of BBC sessions that include tracks not listed on the "Radio Fun" compilation. One that has appeared briefly in outstanding sound is "Chug-a-Lug" the Roger Miller song performed in 1965 when the Hollies appeared on the Beatles' final BBC Bank Holiday special. The Hollies were fans of Miller and did several of his tunes live. Clearly the band is worthy of a double disc set (like the Kinks, and others) and even a few rough-sounding rare tracks would not be wholly objectionable. As another comment suggests, it would be nice to have some of the non- BBC radio and perhaps TV sessions released, as in the case of the Stockholm radio session from 1966, parts of which were on the "Long Road Home" box set and parts of which have surfaced on bootlegs. Still, it is nice to have a legitimate set available and perhaps a volume 2 of Sylvester-era sessions could also be compiled.
