Quote: The direct-to-DVD feature, set for release in early 2012, will be a Justice League Unlimited reunion of sorts, with Kevin Conroy, Michael Rosenbaum, Susan Eisenberg and Carl Lumbly reprising their roles as Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter, respectively. They’ll be joined by Tim Daly (Superman: The Animated Series) and Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern: Emerald Nights), as well as Bumper Robinson as Cyborg. Interesting that this is essentially the new Justice League team, subbing Martian Manhunter back in for Aquaman.

Comics Alliance wrote: If you were into the Justice League animated series, odds are you'll be stoked for Warner Home Video's animated adaptation of Mark Waid and Howard Porter's JLA "Tower of Babel" storyline, Justice League: Doom. TV Guide released the first promo image for the early 2012 release yesterday, reporting that many JL animated alums will reprise familiar roles in the direct-to-DVD/Blu-ray/digital download feature. Stars include Kevin Conroy (Batman), Tim Daly (Superman), Michael Rosenbaum (Flash), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Carl Lumbly (Martian Manhunter), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman) and Bumper Robinson (Cyborg). It might seem like Doom would have to deviate from its JLA 43-46 source material quite a bit to fit in Hal Jordan and Cyborg (who are both fixtures in DC's "New 52" version of the Justice League), but given that the new story was written under the pen of the late Dwayne McDuffie, I'm sure fans are in excellent hands. Bruce Timm is working as executive producer, with Lauren Montgomery directing. New York Comic Con attendees will have a chance to catch the first trailer for Justice League: Doom on October 14, with its official unveiling on the Batman: Year One DVD/Blu-ray on October 18. I like that they kept up the same animation style from the "Crisis" JLA DVD from a couple years back.

I do wish they were including Plas in the story. But still looking forward to it.

On one hand, having Cyborg there sucks. And I loathe that MM costume.
But it's Tower of Babel. And Kevin Conroy and Nathan Fillion. So I'm looking forward to it.

Kevin Conroy alone is all you need to know.
I'd have them dub over Bale's Batman voice with his if I could.

Allen Berrebbi wrote: I don't remember the story, was it any good? It's probably Waid's only notable JLA story. The basic premise is... ...Ra's Al Ghul breaks into the Bat-computer and finds Batman's "failsafe" plans to defeat the individual JLA members, should any of them turn evil. He then implements those plans to beat the League.

I have no memory of that whatsoever. Maybe that'll be good for watching the cartoon.

Just saw this - very good! Recommended for DC and old school superhero fans.
Fast paced and fun - some exceedingly violent moments that were a tad shocking and the MM costume/design is terrible but aside from those nitpicks this was an amazing JLA story - even better than the original comic in my opinion (by replacing Ra's with Vandal Savage's and his Legion of Doom we get a more credible threat here).
Lots of action, great writing, each character gets to shine and a quick pace that keeps the story going. The villains really do a number on the heroes and you feel the peril (Batman's situation in particular is quite dire).
Amazing animation and action sequences too..Timm and his crew are consistently excellent.
Mcduffie was a great writer - this movie is dedicated to him which is fitting. May he rest in peace.

I picked it up this morning, actually... forgot all about it and am really looking forward to it since I really enjoyed the last JLA animated movie.

Hanzo - nope - as Mahoney said he is replaced by Vandal Savage and his Legion of Doom (works better in my opinion).
I noticed they gave zero credit to Mark Waid (who wrote the comic) - they really can be petty at DC..not good form.

Almost just impulse bought this for digital download, but it's 14.99. More than the DVD.
Fail.

I'm glad they got rid of Plastic Man, can't stand the character.
I do wish they'd kept Kyle though.

Just got done watching this... I'm kinda mixed on my reaction. Overall, it was entertaining enough and I love the animation style from the Crisis JLA DVD, but they changed many of Batman's "contingency plans" from the comic in a way that I felt was a lot weaker... For example, the plan to get Superman was to shoot him with a kryptonite bullet... uh, you really needed to hack Batman's computer to come up with this plan? Wouldn't this be the first thing a criminal with access to kryptonite think about?
Wonder Woman having the "Bullseye" scenario from Daredevil #169 is kinda dumb -- I mean, wouldn't she immediately figure out that it was a hallucination instead of thinking everyone on Earth was Cheetah and proceeding to beat them mercilessly?
The Flash's was decent but it was too similar to Speed's scenario while Batman punches his way out of a coffin made me think of the scene from Kill Bill Vol. 2.
Also, the fact that no one makes sure the job is done is sort of ridiculous... why wouldn't Cheetah shoot Wonder Woman while her back is turned fighting the fake Cheetahs? Why wouldn't they shoot Hal as soon as the ring is off? Why not shoot Superman in the head with the kryptonite bullet? Etc. It was fun enough though... but not quite up there with Crisis or All Star as far as DC's animated movies go.
