Product Description
Ed Wood’s cult classic has been hailed as the worst film of all time, but it’s one of the most hilariously entertaining movies you’ll ever see. Aliens fear the human race will develop a deadly “solaranite bomb.” After eight failed attempts, Plan 9 is their scheme to reanimate earth’s dead to build a zombie army and stop the earthlings from destroying the universe. With string-powered flying saucers, twisted alien logic and “priceless” special effects, it’s a movie mission destined for success – or not.

Plan 9 is a movie so beautifully bad, it is great! And it is now finally available on Blu-ray™ Disc!

That is a frightening concept!

While I generally like Legend's work in this case I own the colorized dvd they did & the colorization makes it look just too tacky; especially the flying saucer hubcap!

I saw the RiffTrax Live version of this in a movie theater full of people and laughed hysterically.

That's true of most Ed Wood; though Bride Of The Monster isn't any cheesier than any of the 40's poverty row Lugosi's.

Well, it's no "Glen Or Glenda"...

I'll never forget that I forgot about the soft S&M scene in G or G & playing the film for my then 11 yo sister who's taste in movies was about as twisted as my own. I'm pretty sure I fast forwarded through that part...! She LOVED Bela in G or G to the point that she was quoting his lines for weeks afterwards! I did give her the Ed Wood box set for her 18th or 19th birthday.

"Snips and snails and puppy dog tails!!!"

Years ago, I worked in a department store, and one of the assistant managers who came in was a woman a few years older than me - with the same warped sense of humor as me. We used to get together and watch strange movies all the time. She's who I first saw "Life Of Brian" with, and for a while, there was a question of whether one of both of us would start choking before the Biggus Dickus scene ended. To this day, I can crack her up simply by saying "pointed stick" - I once did that to her just before she started a PA announcement in the store. We had to dial the phone from the floor to get on the PA, so I waited until the second number was finishing its rotation (yes, a real DIAL phone), and in the quarter second before the PA kicked on, I said "Pointed stick" and walked away. Everyone in the store heard her break up during the announcement. Not quite as many heard her scream at me in the garden shop.

Anyway, when I was at Pitt, there was a playhouse that ran a film repreratory, and one night they advertised Turkey Night - a series of the worst films. "Bambi Meets Godzilla" (a short, animated classic), a reel of old Hollywood bloopers (tons of Reagan in that - I think they advertised as a Reagan blooper reel, but it wasn't all him), "USS VD - Ship Of Shame", an old Navy training film about how not using condoms would lead to your ship being sunk (and they showed some pretty disgusting clinical shots in that one). And "Glen Or Glenda". I suppose it does say something about me that I liked GOG - I really did. And BMG - let's put it this way, if that had shown up in season 2 of SNL, people would have talked about what a classic piece it was.

Oh, and the woman I went to this with? I can still crack her up by saying "Glen!" in that voice.
