Was curious....how are the various superhero prose novels are selling in the mainstream bookstores...I noticed a nice display a while back for Roger Stern's Superman novel...will probably pick it up soon.

I'd be curious about this as well, since both Marvel and Dark Horse announced prose novel imprints at about the same time.
Unfortunately, I don't get the sense that there'll ever really be any diversity in the prose arena; we'll likely only see the hotshot superheroes in book form. In most cases, these are the heroes appearing in more than one monthly title, and I'm very tired of them.
It'd be kinda cool to see a Danger Unlimited, Jon Sable: Freelance, or American Flagg prose novel out there. ( Is it my imagination, or was Grell gonna do a Sable prose novel at one time? )

I loved Peter David's Hulk novel from a few years back and I found at a used bookstore a couple of Superman novels by Elliot S. Maggin I think that came out around the time of the first Superman movie...very nice reads.

I read Claremont's X-Men paperback and the Avengers paperback that came out at about the same time ( around 25 years ago ) ... they were okay. Although the X-Men was my favorite comic at the time, the Avengers paperback was better.

There was one I saw in a bookshop once which involved Picard and his Enterprise crew meeting the X-Men. I didn't even make that up. I have to wonder, though, if there was a poignant "I can't take off my visor" scene involving Geordie and Cyclops.....? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet_X_(Star_Trek)

That particular book was a direct sequel to the TNG/X-Men comic published by Marvel, and highly collectible for awhile. A few years ago it was fetching prices of $30 or so on Ebay and Amazon, but it's now available on Kindle and about to be reprinted by Pocket, so the price is more reasonable.

I liked the scene in the TOS/X-Men one-shot where the Beast is in the medical lab with Bones. Someone comes in and calls out "Dr. McCoy!" Both guys turn around and answer "Yes?' at the same time.
