Left out any of Ray Harryhausen's creations;they deserve a category of their own.

My vote was for the Harryhausen Cyclops.

Cloverfield was the best realized but doesn't really belong on that list of classic monsters that go back decades. So Kong wins.

While I love the original King Kong, I had to go with Godzilla for sheer lizardyness...

Besides, I like Mighty Joe Young even better...

I'd agree that Cloverfield is a minor masterpiece of monster movie madness.

Cloverfield scared me. The others on the list didn't. I find scary a necessary quality for a monster.

If I hadn't seen the three newer Gamera movies it'd make my choice that much easier, as it is it's a tie between Godzilla and Gamera for me.

Kong.

The best original concept other than Superman.

(Gwangi is a personal favorite. Dinosaurs and cowboys!)

"King Kong"--The Kinks
"Godzilla"--Blue Oyster Cult

Tough one to call, but "Godzilla" has a better riff.

Kong can show emotion facially while none of the others really can.

The American version of Godzilla is a black mark against the big guy but I still voted for him. He's totally epic.

I never liked King Kong. Something about him annoys me.

The movie Rodan is kind of cool, especially those creepy wormy things.
