I'm not a fan of Jay Leno's stint as the Tonight Show host,but I remember enjoying him when he was the substitute host.Other viewers also did,because his shows often got higher ratings than Johnny's,something that's forgotten now.

Johnny had a pretty good deal in his final years. He was doing something like three shows a week and had at least ten weeks off a year.
And he got paid millions.
