Product Description
Produced by Danger Mouse and The Black Keys, the 11-track album was recorded at singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in the band’s new hometown of Nashville during the spring of 2011.

El Camino follows the most successful two years in The Black Keys’ career. In May 2010 they released their breakthrough album, Brothers, to widespread critical acclaim. Debuting at #2 in the US, it went on to win three Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award, and topped numerous year-end lists, including iTunes, NPR, and Rolling Stone. Brothers, which included the hit singles “Tighten Up” and “Howlin’ for You,” has been certified Gold in the US and UK, and Platinum in Canada. Worldwide sales are now over one million and counting.

Drummer Patrick Carney said of the band’s recent success, “We’ve taken the long road to get where we are. It’s pretty cool to be in your early 30s making music with your best friend. We’ve experienced everything from driving a thousand miles to play for no one to winning Grammys.” Auerbach further describes the band’s dynamic, “We don't talk before we play. We don’t practice before we record, we just fly by the seat of our pants.” He says of El Camino, “I think where this record is going to shine for me is playing the songs live. This record is more straight ahead rock and roll—raw, driving, and back to basics.”

1. Lonely Boy
2. Dead And Gone
3. Gold On The Ceiling
4. Little Black Submarines
5. Money Maker
6. Run Right Back
7. Sister
8. Hell Of A Season
9. Stop Stop
10. Nova Baby
11. Mind Eraser

The Black Keys complete work on new album with Danger Mouse

The Black Keys have finished work on their new album and are planning to release it later this year.

The blues rockers have once again worked with Danger Mouse on the as-yet-untitled LP, which will be their seventh studio record. The producer, real name Brian Burton, helmed last year's 'Brothers' and 2008's 'Attack & Release'.

Speaking to Spin.com, frontman Dan Auerbach praised Danger Mouse and his "great ideas".

"He understands all the different kinds of music we're into. He's got really great ideas about melody and song structure. For him it's all about the song," Auerbach commented.

The frontman also told fans to expect a departure from 'Brothers'' soul sound, stating: "The new album doesn't sound like 'Brothers'. It doesn't have that open soul feel to it. It's way more driving and the tempos are really fast."

Tracks confirmed for inclusion on the album include opener 'Lonely Boy' and 'Little Black Submarine', which "sounds like Black Sabbath".

The Black Keys are set to play a short US tour next month, taking in dates in Kansas City, San Francisco, Columbia and Atlanta.

The Black Keys unveil new album 'El Camino' in car sale advert spoof - video

The Black Keys have unveiled their new album 'El Camino' in a bizarre car sale spoof.

The band, who released their last album 'Brothers' in 2010, have set up a new website http://www.wannabuyavan.com, which features a link to a video which stars US comedic actor and How I Met Your Mother star Bob Odenkirk attempting to film an advert to sell a used El Camino car.

At the conclusion of the video the words 'The Black Keys. El Camino. December 6' appear on the screen, which would indicate the record will be released on December 5 in the UK. You can watch the video by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

There is also a phone number listed on the spoof website, which when called plays a recorded message from The Black Keys themselves.

The band have previously said that 'El Camino' is strongly influenced by The Clash and The Cramps. There remains no confirmed tracklisting for the LP as yet, but tracks titled 'Little Black Submarine' and 'Lonely Boy' are both set to feature on the album.

The Black Keys tour the UK in February next year, playing four UK dates as part of a full European trek. These begin on February 3 at Nottingham's Capital FM Arena and run until February 10, when the band headline London's Alexandra Palace. They will also play Manchester and Edinburgh as part of the run.

Looking forward to hearing this. Patrick saying it's raw and back-to-basics rock makes me very hopeful for a good record.

Just discovered this band, and I'm really digging them. This is exactly my kind of music.

My copy arrived yesterday from Amazon, and I can't get enough of it. I love the mix of rock and soul.. "Hell of A Season" and "Stop Stop" are my top 2 favorite tracks. I hope the Keys stop nearby on their next tour. It's been way too long since I saw them in concert -which was not long after the release of their first album.

Just bought the vinyl. I enjoyed the album quite a lot on my first listen.

Also, perfect pressing quality. One of the best manufactured records I've ever heard. The Tchad Blake mixes sound great too.

Such a great album. Brothers was good too.

I kinda wish they were still a small band so the ticket prices were cheaper. :)

What's the level of Blake's involvement? I thought this was strictly a Dangermouse/band co-production...

I love this record! Just listened to it in the Jeep this morning. In a different place and time there'd be 3-4 Top Ten singles within its 37 minutes. I don't recall the name but track nine is a killer!

He mixed the album. No production credit.
