What films (or even film series) are so perfect on your own you hope they never do a sequel?
Top of my list is Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Ferris is Peter Pan. Seeing him grown up, with a job, a wife, and kids completely misses the point and appeal of the character.
Back to the Future is another one. Not just because Michael J. Fox couldn't really fully participate, but because a new film would likely just rehash elements of the original series.
On the other hand, I'd love to see sequels to the Star Wars films, as long as Lucas hired talented filmmakers to work on them, and they didn't recast the major roles (have them jump ahead a century or so).
I'm on the fence with Ghostbusters. I think the original is perfect, but I'm kind of okay with bringing the characters back to pass the torch or do the whole "one last job" sort of thing.

Groundhog Day
The Big Lebowski
The Sixth Sense
This is Spinal Tap
The Truman Show
I can see temptation to make sequels to all of those but can't imagine they would do anything but diminish the originals.

They're working on a remake of The Princess Bride, which depresses me.

Remakes of most movies depress me...
However, I reserve the right to be alternately excited for some remakes...

I agree about Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I think they made some sort of sequel to American Psycho, which is kinda a travesty.

It starred Mila Kunis, too. Dunno if she got her kit off.

Quentin Tarantino has talked about how he has left the door open for more stories in the "Kill Bill" saga, but I like "Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2" just as they are. Four-plus hours is plenty.
Also--I really hope the whole Jesus Quintana/Big Lebowski sequel never comes to pass.
Blazing Saddles--I know Mel Brooks tried a TV pilot with Louis Gossett, Jr., but I've always feared some sort of Def Comedy Jam-esque update.

Pulp Fiction. Fargo. the Disney classics (although most of these have sequels at this point)

Man, I hope the Wachowskis leave well enough alone after the sole Matrix movie. They could end up with something really long-winded and pretentious.

I hope they never make that 4th Indiana Jones movie. Wait, they did?

Although, I really don't want them to make a sequel to Bladerunner. It's good all by itself.

I think all movies, good and bad, should have eight sequels each.
