I just saw my favorite band of all time perform live on the Grammy Awards show. Goosebumps, folks.

I didn't really discover (and then, come to worship) The Police until the late 1980's, so I completely missed out on the chance to see them perform live. I'm now hearing rumors that they will be touring in the near future.

This means that I am going to have the chance to see The Police perform. Like, right in front of me.

There are no words.

Discuss.

"Roxanne". Not one of my favorites, and it wasn't exactly a smashing rendition...but I don't care. Those three men making music together again? I couldn't be happier.

I tuned in to the Grammys solely for the Police reunion. I'd love to see them do some new music, especially since it's unlikely that I'd be able to see them in concert. Plus, I just generally prefer when bands reunite to do more than just revisit their classics.

Why is it unlikely that you'd be able to see them in concert? I'm not much of a concert-goer, but my sorry fat ass will certainly find its way to a new Police show.

And my understanding is that there is, in fact, new stuff from the boys to be heard.

I was surprised they opened the show; they were the only reason I was watching.

Has anyone read "One Train Later" ? I bought it just after Christmas but haven't gotten through much more than a third or so...

Cost. Big name reunion tours are almost always ridiculously overpriced.

I saw this! My wife was very happy! She is a big fan. Then, we tuned out the Grammys as the Dixie Chicks came on.

If they play in Chicago and tickets aren't obscene, I'll definitely take you up on it.

Of course they'll play in Chicago! Everyone does.

You'll enjoy my couch. It's very comfy.

The Police were my first "wow, I have to have ALL their albums" band. Still a big fan, but I don't know if I'll make it to a show or not. It all depends on where they play and how much it costs. I already saw them when I was 12 or 13 (1982 or '83), and they were much more in their prime than the old guys are now. :)

I turned on the Grammys for the opening song by The Police and then took a shower. They're currently on in the living room, but will be off at 9:00 so I can watch the new episode of BSG tonight.

Damn! I tried to link to the SNL sketch with Sting and Dana Carvey and Kevin Nealon in the elevator. It's not there.

"ROXanne!"

I think "Canary in a Coal Mine" might be one of the most perfect pop songs of all time.
