What movie, book, TV series, concept album, video game, etc, should be turned into an ongoing comic series? My pick...

The Greatest American Hero.

Not necessarily a straight adaptation, but a comic book relaunch with the same characters/concept. I could see Giffen/DeMatties/Maguire killing on a book like this.

I could go for a Fallout comic, if written well.

Greatest American Hero is Geoff John's Green Lantern.

Firefly, if Whedon writes it.
The Elder Scrolls universe could make for some epic fantasy comics.
Fallout, like Jasob said.
I think that movie Dark Knight with Christian Bale could make a good comic premise. Someone should look into it. ;)

Wasn't that already a comic?

Two minis. I was thinking of an ongoing though.

Did you read the GN that was the prequel to New Vegas? At my first read, before playing the game, it was okay. Afterwards, I reread and it was a nice tie-in. I would support more Fallout, but I love me some post-apocolyptic stories.

I think I would like Firefly more if is was a reboot rather than trying to shoehorn the 12 episodes into the story. Plus then what happened in Serenity could be ignored.

i would love to see someone turn the RPG Earthdawn into a comic series along with Shadowrun. I would love to see the two in the same book, two seperate stores. There could be occasional links then between the two. They were such lush worlds, ripe for the picking.

I am also going to throw out Gibson's Neromancer world.

There was a 3-issue mini that came out a couple years back. William Katt plotted it, IIRC.

"You know what should be a comic? Me."

I've heard that from more than one person when I told them that I dabbled in independent comics.

Peter Pan should be an ongoing all-ages comic.

Carrie Vaughn's "A Werewolf Named Kitty" series.

Asimov's robots. Make it the ongoing investigations of Elijah Baley and R. Daneel Olivaw.

I think Skrym might be good. My son and his friends play it all the time.

I am familiar with it, but have not read it.

There is a bunch of post-apocalyptic goodness coming in the coming years from numerous fronts (Bethesda, Obsidian, Interplay, and inXile Entertainment),

I always thought Spider-Man would be good in a comic but only if they got Toby Maguire to write and draw it.
