EMI Records have confirmed that the Public Image Limited back catalogue is to be reissued by in January 2012, along with John Lydon’s ‘Psycho’s Path’ album. The exception to the reissue package is ‘Metal Box’ (aka Second Edition), which was reissued in January 2011.

All the albums have been remastered, and will be reissued in their original format so will not contain any bonus material. The albums will be re-released on CD and as digital downloads; the release dated slated for the 16th January 2012.

PiL also have previously confirmed that they are currently completing a new as yet untitled studio album, also due for release in 2012.

I assume these will be the same as the Japanese mini-LP remasters from earlier this year.

Were there bonus tracks on those? Even though there's none on these, I no longer have any studio albums and may be interested still-it was a really good catalogue.

I have only two of the mini-LPs, Album and Happy?, and neither have bonus tracks. I don't think any of the mini-LPs do.

Was excited until I saw no bonus tracks. Will have to keep my old copy of Flowers of Romance. (And am a bit disappointed that This Is What You Want won't have any of the earlier sessions, or at least the single version of This Is Not a Love Song.)

I may get these. I've always liked the band but never owned anything and if the price is right, I don't need bonus cuts, though that would've been nice.

Ex-Sex Pistol John Lydon’s other band, Public Image Ltd. are releasing their entire back catalog next year.

NME.com reports that all PiL albums (except Metal Box, which was reissued in 2009) will be remastered for next year.

The albums, which will be reissued by EMI, include: First Issue (aka Public Image Ltd.), Paris in the Spring, Flowers of Romance, Live in Tokyo, This is What You Want... This Is What You Get, Album (aka Compact Disc), Happy, 9, The Greatest Hits So Far, That What is Not as well as John Lydon’s solo album Psycho’s Path.

Lydon also has been talking about a brand-new Public Image album. He told

BBC 6Music: “It is probably going to be called This is PiL basically because it is, it is all the work, effort and energy we put into this record.”

I already bought the 2009 Metal Box, so I'm fine with it.

Probably just the 1st album and Flowers of Romance for me......wasn't as crazy about them afterwards. Flowers of Romance is a great album......and I loved the woman on the front cover.

These are all up at AmazonUK, so I'll leave it up to someone (Linda?) to post all the links and images. Each one is 6.99 lbs so, at some point I'll be getting these for sure. I don't really care about bonus tracks.

So apparently Flowers of Romance will have the same bonus tracks.

A lot of the bonus material is on Plastic Box, too.
