Bassist Oliver "Ollie" Riedel of German industrial metallers Rammstein revealed during an interview with MusikUniverse.net (see video below) that the band's recent concerts in New York and Montreal were filmed for a forthcoming DVD. In addition, the group is planning to release a "best-of" collection in April 2011 featuring two previously unreleased songs.

The Madison Square Garden performance was the only U.S. show by the Berlin-based six-piece band, which had not performed in the United States since 2001. The show was announced September 27, tickets went on sale for the show Friday, October 8 at noon Eastern and before an hour passed, tickets were officially sold out. This made Rammstein the first German band in history to accomplish such a feat.

Rammstein first stormed America in 1998, touring with a set based on their Grammy-nominated breakthrough second release, "Sehnsucht", featuring "Du Hast", the song prominently featured in David Lynch's film "Lost Highway".

Rammstein's latest album, "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da", sold 22,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart. Previously, the group's best rank came with its 1998 chart debut, "Sehnsucht", which peaked at No. 45 off the strength of its only U.S. radio chart hit, "Du Hast".

"Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" arrived in stores on October 20, 2009 through a marketing and distribution deal with Vagrant Records and Universal Music Germany. The album was produced by Jacob Hellner and Rammstein, with recording done at Northern California's Sonoma Mountain Studio. The first single from the 11-track release was "Pussy", which was released as a digital single on September 22, 2009 and accompanied by one of the year's most viral videos.

Rammstein is:

Till Lindemann - Vocals
Paul Landers - Guitar
Richard Z. Kruspe - Guitar
Oliver Riedel - Bass
Christoph Schneider - Drums
Flake Lorenz - Keyboards

German industrial metal-makers Rammstein have announced a new “greatest hits” collection, due in stores this fall. According to Blabbermouth, Made in Germany 1995-2011 will feature 20 classic tracks, as well as one new song. The CD/DVD will also feature every Rammstein video.

Meanwhile, the group have also announced a series of European dates to support Made in Germany. The tour will kick off in November.

All of their videos on the DVD? I am so in. These guys are amazing and the videos are insane. So cool they sold out Madison Square Garden-nobody puts on a concert like these guys-they're nuts! I need to see them someday but they rarely play the US, hence the sellout at MSG.

Awesome! A major arena tour of the US for Rammstein who are more popular now than they've ever been. I've never seen them, but I'd like to when they play Philly, because they have one of the wildest stage shows ever.
From antimusic.com:

Rammstein have plotted a North American invasion, first with a new release and then a spring tour.
The 21 date date tour will be kicking off on April 20th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and hit cities across the U.S. and Canada for before wrapping up on May 25th in Houston, Tx.

The release date for the new Rammstein retrospective, Made in Germany 1995-2011, has been set for December 13th.

"Mein Land," the first single from the retrospective is available now via iTunes, Amazon and other digital download services.

The "Mein Land" video, a Jonas Åkerlund directed clip that sees Rammstein embrace the beach party movie genre, is currently streaming at Rammstein.com.

From what I undertsand there is the best of w/ one new track, a 2CD version w/ remixes and an expensive box version which includes the DVD. That's a shame as I wanted the DVD.
Can anyone confirm this?

I have the 2CD version. All I can say is there is definitely no DVD in this variation.

J&R had the 1-CD and 2-CD versions in stock today. No sign of a CD+DVD, or a box set.

Thanks guys! Looks like only the deluxe box has the DVD unless that gets a seperate release at some point.
And what did Jimbo do about this matter?

He punted.

I'll wait 'til the 2-CD set (or maybe the box) shows up at 'Rama.

FLAG! 15 yard unsportsmanlike for actually holding off.

I saw them live about ten years ago, IP. It was a phenomenal show, no kidding around one of the best I've ever seen. All the fire! :) I'm sort of glad they didn't play Buck Dich at the show I went to though; I don't know if you've ever seen video of that spectacle, but its...welllll, pretty hardcore.

Hopefully you get a chance to see them.

I was knocked out by their appearance in Blade II. Still one of the loudest movies I've seen in a theater.

They also performed at the beginning of xXx, that Vin Diesel debacle. The only part of the movie worth seeing. Live Aus Berlin is a great live DVD, and very cheap these days, for anyone interested.
