It is a feat of time travel of which the Doctor would be proud. Two classic episodes of Doctor Who that were thought to have been lost for ever have been returned to the BBC.

The two episodes from 1965 and 1967, which star William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton, have been unearthed three decades after they were unsuspectingly purchased at a village fete.

Nice! I see they're already planning on releasing them on DVD next year.

Glad to hear about this. Always nice to see lost movies and television resurface.

I really did think that the well had run dry but every decade, a little something else turns up. Gives one hope. Still 106 episodes missing though.

They expect a handful of episodes will turn up when the older generation of Who fans start dying off and relatives go through their personal affects. A lot of the people who bought tapes from boot sales have no clue they have a missing episode.

There's also an African nation which might have some. They carried BBC back then and they're no longer on good terms with the English. Most of the found episodes were from BBC affiliates.
